It is true which is gonna be the new norm because the next few entries are gonna be futuristic settings. Which I think will kill the series long term because they take too long to release

Idk if this is actually true, but I keep reading that the reason the new mainline is taking so long to come out is because Chiyo keeps trying to "predict the future" and it keeps not coming true, and so they keep doing rewrites. IF this is true, why is this such a big deal?

@CVortexxx That was the case for A;C. For new mainline they did change the theme once already so I can only imagine they're trying to pull off the same thing. Yes it is dumb but Mages aren't exactly known for their wise business decisions and planning, so...

@goldenpingy yeah that's what i'm saying. idk why he would care about the "accuracy" of his prediction if R;N is already completely wrong on most of its big ticket items. maybe the AI similarities in zero made him think he had precog powers and he's trying to rechannel shit lol idk

@CVortexxx As long as it makes sense with established background and is explainable, then who cares if it’s the same as real life or not. I enjoyed learning about Robotics;Notes’ version of 2019, and I first read it after 2019 had already passed. I’m sure most of us really aren’t bothered.

Guys I’m not going to lie for a long time I thought that Portugal was in Brazil. I had never really thought about it but the moment that I did I realized how stupid it was.

The "nightmare" future of 2019 in R;N has not come to pass. AR/VR remains largely a gimmick, robots are not a huge part of our daily lives (as the game depicts anyway), tablets haven't replaced smartphones, etc.
