At the TUC annual congress this week, the FBU delegation supported a motion rejecting the common sense Supreme Court judgment that people are defined by biological sex for the purposes of law. This is a frienge view. Who is the delegation speaking for? Who did they consult?

Incredibly, this resolution was not withdrawn by the Scottish region of the FBU and was carried at the STUC LGBT+ workers' conference last month. It is now a matter of record that the FBU supports 'equality for polyamory'. Crackpot politics have no place in our union.

Who decided that "equality for polyamory" should be the official position of the FBU? Certainly not annual conference. Who decided that it was then a good idea to demand the TUC fall in with the campaign? How on Earth did this crackpottery get through the Scottish region?

Which FBU employee was sent to work for a year inside the office of Mary Foy MP? Who paid his/her wages during that time? Did executive council members approve the decision? Did they even know about it? Did they know that the-then general secretary was in a relationship with Foy?

Big story in today’s Mail on Sunday. While Matt Wrack was in charge of the FBU, members’ money was spent on a donation to a Labour MP with whom he was in an undeclared relationship. An FBU staffer was also sent to work in the same MP’s office. dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1…

The resolution passed. It is now the official policy of the FBU that the supreme court was wrong to say 'women' and 'men' are defined by biological sex for the purposes of law and that supporters of the ruling are basically Nazis & fascists. What on Earth were delegates thinking?
