Teacher has now filed lawsuit against the school district—arguing that his First Amendment rights were violated when he was ordered to remove the anti-hate poster. His classroom also features a "COEXIST" poster with religious symbols from around the world—but the school board doesn't have a problem with that. One board member who voted to remove the poster later resigned—after posts on social media denying the Holocaust and praising Hitler were made public. Incident occurred in the Little Miami School District suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio.

In February 2025, he was taken by police who "mistook" his walking cane as a weapon. He was blind. They hit, tackled and tased him. He spent nearly a year in detention. ICE realized they couldn't keep or deport him, so they left him outside a closed Tim Horton's in freezing temperatures with no shoes, without notifying his attorney or his family, in extreme pain from a perforated duodenal ulcer.
