Actually, in the last couple of days, I’ve started seeing posts from patriotic Iranians inside their country who are risking everything to help Israel and the United States win this war, and it seems to me that this is a game changer. It’s one of the reasons why Trump can speak so confidently. We have intelligence that the Iranians cannot possibly defend against, and the IRGC knows this and he is panicking. Well, AOC and her allies clearly want to remove all of Israel’s defense capabilities because they hate Israel and want them to be defeated by its enemies. This seems like a very good point to me. I always thought it was a bit odd that Joseph of Arimathea was seemingly able to get permission quite easily to take Jesus’s body. I’ve always given John’s gospel the most credibility in this respect, because it seems that he was an eyewitness to much of what took place in that moment, so I place some importance on the fact that he mentions the participation of Nicodemus. The fact that Joseph and Nicodemus were together in burying Jesus would imply that they had a relationship perhaps based on shared discipleship or more. So together, they may have had the influence necessary to persuade Pilate to release the body. There seemed to be more going on there than was clearly spelled out in the gospel narrative.

The temple was ending and a new temple was raising up. Caiaphas did not bring Jesus before Pilate with a religious accusation, but a political matter: “He makes Himself a king.” Pilate gave in for fear of losing his position. At 3 o’clock on Friday afternoon, as Jesus was dying, in the temple right where Caiaphas had officiated, the veil tore. Remembering Jesus’ words “I will rise again on the third day.”, The high priests and the Pharisees asked Pilate to have the tomb sealed and guarded, unintentionally, giving us the greatest proof of the resurrection: that Jesus’ body could not have been stolen.
