As a lifelong Floridian, it’s amusing to see a place go from being universally mocked by the business and cultural elite for hanging chads and Florida Man to becoming the shining example of good governance. That said, it’s sad (and a bit cowardly) to see so few of our famous newcomers acknowledge the real reasons why they’re uprooting their family offices and businesses and social lives after years of exporting West Coast morality to everywhere but here. I will be vindicated in my view that social media and app-based influencer models of engagement—when it comes to faith, especially—ultimately devalue and debase everything. It is shocking that @JonHaidt is winning this battle very clearly when it comes to schools—and yet churches and faith-based communities seem to have their heads buried in the sand, at least 10 years behind schools. Many are cheering Mark Whalberg flexing his biceps on a prayer app as if it's a great win for evangelization, in the same way naive teachers did when companies were subsidizing handouts of edtech tablets. It's not as different as you think.

@webdevMason Yep. I had 1 removed for ectopic and have a family history of both breast and ovarian cancer. My doctor said when we’re done having kids it would probably be a good idea to take the other one too.

Sorry to sidestep an entire front on the gender wars, but the great majority of ovarian cancers start in the tubes and doctors are increasingly recommending bilateral salpingectomy for women who are done having children for the reduction in mortality alone
