This is actually a reference to my first art of her,, which is half a year ago,, (June 13 I think) 🥹🥹 oh how time flies

@NyanSquidd -which makes sense since characterisation of that character to have their own identity is important. And then this discourse leads to "having pokemon design on a character is bad/lazy" to which... Results in more discourses unfortunately

@NyanSquidd TRUTH NUKE But I think some of the points I manage to pick up from those who dislikes the "glorified gijinka" designs were mostly about how a character may appear more like a caricature of their pokemon-

Pokémon fans are allergic to fun I swear to god because what's wrong with a character having accessories that resembles a pokemon? And, what's so bad if a character loves their pokemon so much they'd like to incorporate their traits into their fashion?

@AShiroN3K0 There's a tweet saying how they're sick of seeing characters looking like their pokemon and ZA cast being the final straw, to which it is confusing to me because Gwynn is the only one in the cast with an obvious pokemon design element (hence why I use her as an example-)

A bit of a follow up thought I think the term "glorified gijinka" doesn't make sense to me because from a character design point of view, it makes the cast more vibrant and the pokemon world more lived in. Heck, back in SV, Katy's design was criticised for not being "bug enough"

@pikachu0z I know 😭😭 I think the idea that trainer appearing very similar with, or having elements of their pokemon is cool an really cute. I get people may not like some designs being "too on the nose" but ZA and recent char designs don't have that problem which is baffling
