Now his indoor titles came in the US and the quality of opponents there was in my opinion lower than that of the European challengers so ge would've had a harder time if he decided to play in Europe Coming to this matchup there are some obvious flaws in both of these guys games and this should be a very back and forth matchup with constant momentum swings. Jodar's first strike game is slightly better suited to these conditions and he's coming off an impressive win over Tien yesterday but there's always some things that need to be mentioned Jodar was down a break in the final set and came back from a 3-1 30-0 deficit on return. Learner Tien won 14 more points on return and 13 more points in the whole match so Jodar was very fortunate to scrape a win. Jodar also won only 34% of his points serve which is not ideal. Budkov Kjaer again played pretty well but he was fortunate to win in 4 sets as he trailed Landaluce a lot of times and it could've ended up going 5 if Landaluce didn't choke break leads or TB leads. FLAWS OR WEAKNESSES Jodar's weakness is his movement but he did very well to hang with Tien who is a very tough matchup for anyone who is not comfortable moving laterally across the court . As for Budkov Kjaer , his forehand can crack under pressure in these conditions if forced into a forehand to forehand exchange ( Jodar's most redeeming quality is his forehand which arguably the biggest weapon or let's just say the X factor in deciding who's going to win this match). His serve has somewhat improved but his second serve can easily be exploited by Jodar in these conditions and he'll have to be vary of that forehand. STRENGTHS : Jodar has a massive massive forehand and his backhand again is great unlike Landaluce whose backhand was very easily exploited by Kjaer yesterday so this is the type of matchup where he should have a hard time even in keeping up during any backhand to backhand exchanges. As for Kjaer , his backhand down the line and his serve are massive weapons in these conditions. Kjaer knows how to spread the court with his backhand and he's going to make Jodar work to win every single point. Jodar's movement can be exploited by Kjaer here who has great movement and covers the court extremely well. Jodar should should have a hard time keeping up with his cross court backhand as I see Kjaer rushing to the net and ending points early. OBSERVATIONS : I was far more impressed by Kjaer yesterday who has made 2 big improvements in his game 1) His first serve crossed 210km/hr on the regular and I don't know where it came from but he's serving motion is somewhat becoming more and more similar to Casper Ruud but he's generating far more pace on that serve. 2) His forehand has been an issue for him in the past but yesterday my word that forehand was firing on all cylinders. Yes he did give some cheap breaks away but he outrallied Landaluce in most forehand to forehand exchanges which is a great sign for someone who doesn't have a big forehand but that forehand is a weapon now. As for Jodar , he hits big off both wings and his serve is decent ( crossed 200 km/hr on the regular) but what he did yesterday might be hard to replicate today FINAL THOUGHTS : I see this being a 5 setter and my personal lean would be Kjaer ( gun to my head ) and I'll only be enjoying this match because I can't stand hearing more VAMOS RAFA or Kjaer's fist bumps after every single fucking game It took me a lot of time to write this in full and this is not fucking AI generated so leave a LIKE on this while you're here ❤️
