@RealSchlep I consider Meepcity a condo game. It really needs to be taken down. That game had previous violations of this nature and Roblox knew of it and gave the developer a slap on the wrist. Roblox needs to do the right thing. But do they have the guts to? That's the real question.

Developers: You are now required to PAY FOR A Roblox Plus subscription in order to publish games on roblox. This is the most stupid update I have ever seen. Every developer who was developing for fun is now done for. What about inactive developers? What is roblox doing?

I know A LOT of people hate this change... but this is actually a pretty W update when it comes to keeping kids safe on the platform. The world wanted Roblox to be held more accountable for the games published on their platforms... the community wanted the same. Cut the problem off at the start by making it a lot harder to publish the games in the first place. I'm sure there will be some refinement (and those serious about making good games will adapt) but if we want to push the bad actors off the platform, making it harder and more public for them is the way to do it. Want to make a game that promotes nefarious things to kids? Now your name and face are attached to it.

Roblox is changing the eligibility to upload games on the platform. To publish for all ages, you now need: - Roblox Plus; - ID Verification & Age Check; - 2-Step Verification enabled; - and have your account in "good standing". Roblox will additionally run games through trials to ensure engagement is legitimate and not from fake or bot accounts. To publish for Ages 16+ & Trusted Friends, you now need: - An account in "good standing"; - An age check; and - An account that is at least 2 days old. Any user on the platform, whether they meet any of the requirements, can still publish games for personal use. Roblox is stating they chose this requirements because "most creators already meet many of the criteria" and it will "make it more difficult for bad actors to bypass our moderation systems". Lastly, Roblox will make that transition by providing 100,000 users with a Free Roblox Plus subscription for 6 months. To be eligible, a user may have a minimum of 100 hours of total playtime on their game in the past month & no major violations of Roblox's Community Standards.

I think people are misinterpreting what i’m saying. I’m not saying pedophiles should he allowed on Roblox; they are horrible and should be jailed. I’m saying pred catchers need to know when to switch platforms and not to focus platforms which gives creators revenue and a living.

Shlep has caused harm to every part of Roblox. I oftentimes say people say “he was protecting children” or “Roblox platform changes weren’t because of him”. He wasn’t protecting anyone, he just wants money, he could have let it go or have switched to another platform with way worse problems like Discord but nope, it must be Roblox. Additionally why does he post all videos on youtube? Now for the second statement, how come as soon as he started posting Roblox suddenly gets all these child violations. Shlep has caused Roblox to do platform changes which hurt developers, UGC creators and content creators which had Roblox as their primary source of income. Fuck shlep, his cease and desist was rightfully given, and fuck parents who don’t know how to properly keep their kids safe online, it’s not that hard. schools.nyc.gov/learning/digit…
