Fantastic new billboard campaign for the Canadian leisure airline, Air Transat, by the agency Courage (Montreal). Four reasons why I found this brilliant: 1. Excellent use of price anchoring as a creative device. Price anchoring is a cognitive bias where people rely heavily on the first piece of pricing information they see (which becomes the "anchor") when evaluating subsequent options. Marketers often present a higher price first to make the second, more affordable one feel like a strong deal, in comparison. 2. Sparkling wordplay: 'watching' a country's team (football) play vs. 'seeing' the country itself, as a tourist. 3. Striking visual device: a white streak (ball) that moves from one side of the billboard to the other, as another white streak in the sky (a plane)! 4. Super topical and completely unofficial: it rides on a topical event (2026 FIFA World Cup, co-hosted by Canada, US, and Mexico) and a hugely buzzy topic (widely discussed fan frustration around skyrocketing match ticket prices) to its advantage without being an official sponsor of the event! Overall, terrific work! #advertising #marketing #creativity
