We just don't invest, we don't build as a country. Then, year after year, we are surprised when we are worse off.   No longer. This government will wrest us out of that economic decline.   My remarks on the Planning and Infrastructure Bill.

This is so important. @BarnetLabour has delivered for our residents against the backdrop of 15 years of savage funding cuts. The government must act to rebalance these shortfalls so we can provide the services our communities need and save money in the long term

It has been great working with @perayahmet and Haringey council in a common cause to benefit residents of both boroughs.

I’m so pleased that all services will continue at High Barnet Post Office, and thrilled to hear that under its new Postmaster, the branch will offer an extended opening on Tuesday mornings. It is vital that this community cornerstone is protected, and I’m proud of our campaign with @BarnetLabour to keep these crucial services on our high street!

So good to be back on the doorstep in Barnet Vale with @SueBaker1985779, Cllr Nym Barnes and some fab volunteers. Big concerns about crime, migration and housing were heard loud and clear. I know we have to improve things locally and nationally if we're going to rebuild trust.

Labour created over 27,000 new prison places between 1997 and 2010. The Tories in 14 years: 455 new places. They should apologise to the British people for the crisis they created in our prisons.

Thrilled to see that waiting lists have come down in our part of London. This govt is smashing targets with two million extra appointments in just seven months. Delivering on our promises.

This Labour government is going further and faster to deliver our Plan for Change and put more pounds in people’s pockets.
