There’s NOTHING cultural about violence. Nothing traditional about trauma. Hearing claims about a so called “Raping Festival” in Ozoro, Delta State where women are allegedly targeted if they step out is beyond disturbing. If this is true, it is not culture, it is criminality. Let’s be clear: Rape is a crime. Period. No tradition, festival, or belief system justifies violating a human being. Culture is meant to preserve dignity, not destroy it. Any practice that promotes fear, harm, or abuse especially against women is not heritage it is a human rights violation. To the authorities: this demands urgent investigation and accountability. To the community: silence protects perpetrators, not culture. To everyone reading: speak up. Normalize protection, not violence. We cannot romanticize evil in the name of tradition. #StopRape #ProtectWomen #HumanRights #DeltaState

I'm calling on the commissioner for women affairs, community , and social development and commissioner of police delta state to issue a statement that arrest has been made and investigation going on...both the planners of such event, raping festival should be answering questions behind bars.

Sometimes, the things happening in 2026 leave me speechless. What do you mean there’s something called a “raping festival”? Seeing a crowd surround a girl and violate her in broad daylight is just disturbing. I’ve been sick to my stomach. 🤢 Where are the authorities?? Who is protecting women in that community? This is unbelievable.
