The NFL has approved a rule change allowing the league to consult with on-field officials on potential disqualifications (both flagrant football acts and non-football acts) and place a flag on the field.
Essentially, as an example, it’s the DK Metcalf situation—after he wasn’t ejected last year following his incident with a Lions fan because there was no flag. That now changes.

Just in: NFL owners have approved a new rule that, if replacement refs are used this season, would allow the NFL Officiating Department in New York to correct clear and obvious misses that impact the game. So, for example, if the “Fail Mary” were to happen again with replacement refs, they’d be able to correct the call.

Speak of the devil. The @BigSouthSports just announced they will sponsor women’s flag football as a league sport, starting in 2027. Five leagues schools have announced they’re adding the sport, with potentially more to come.

I think I might have been underselling how quickly this sport is gonna take off. I heard about another P4 league having similar convos earlier this week, and can think of at least three major conferences having similar convos. 70 D1 teams by 2028 doesn’t feel impossible
