Google could have kept this algorithm private instead of open sourcing it. But they allowed everyone, including competitors, to benefit from their research. That is why I respect Google. If you did not know, this entire AI era became possible because Google openly published their transformer model research paper.

Introducing TurboQuant: Our new compression algorithm that reduces LLM key-value cache memory by at least 6x and delivers up to 8x speedup, all with zero accuracy loss, redefining AI efficiency. Read the blog to learn how it achieves these results: goo.gle/4bsq2qI

the skills that actually get you hired: • auth flows (oauth, jwt, sessions) • db schema design & migrations • caching (redis, cdn) • background jobs & queues • file uploads & storage • realtime (websockets, pub/sub) • forms & validation • state management • testing (unit + e2e) • deploys & monitoring leetcode won’t save you. this stack will.

@Akintola_steve Charge the buyer in their local currency to simplify the process and avoid confusion. Use a payment gateway that supports multi-currency transactions, like PayPal, Adyen, or Stripe. FX Rates, Settlements, and Refunds: FX Rates: Use a reliable FX rate provider to get real-time

@Akintola_steve Price Conversion: Display prices in the seller's local currency, but offer conversion to the buyer's local currency (e.g., Nigerian Naira) using real-time exchange rates. This way, buyers know exactly how much they'll pay.

Techies, let’s discuss. How do you build a global e-commerce system that supports transactions across different African countries? For example: A seller in one country lists a product in their local currency. Now a buyer from another country (say Nigeria) wants to purchase it, what should happen? 1) Do you convert prices on the fly? 2) Do you charge the buyer in their local currency or the seller’s? 3) How do you handle FX rates, settlements, and refunds? I need someone to design how this would play.

@Akintola_steve This is a fact! Domain knowledge is key. Because you've developed other type of solution isn't a yardstick to jump into developing FinTech solutions without prior and proper understanding.

If you don’t understand solid system design and payment systems, don’t touch fintech apps. You’ll end up causing more damage than good.

@Akintola_steve Nice post. Although, sharding is the last resort if other approaches fail. Which in most cases devs don't have to implement it.

Database sharding… Most devs hear this and immediately think it’s some super complex concept only top-tier companies should care about. But honestly, it’s not that deep. If you’re building anything in Nigeria that’s going to scale, you should at least understand what it means. I’ll break it down very simply in the next two tweets below only

+234 Techies and anyone sha 😂 let's discuss! Let's say you're building a fintech app, right... and a user sends money. Your DB write fails halfway. What do you do? NB: If your options are not here, you're free to drop your actual approach in the replies.

A Nigerian fintech startup lost ₦47 million in one night. Not to hackers. Not to fraud. To one missing line of code. Every backend dev in Nigeria needs to see this
