Trump just announced a two-week ceasefire with Iran and I need everyone to understand what actually happened here because the headlines are going to be hilariously wrong by morning. For five weeks, every foreign policy expert on earth has been saying Trump's deadlines are meaningless. He threatens, he extends, nothing happens. 'Classic bluff.' Except during every single extension, Iran quietly let more ships through the Strait of Hormuz. First Chinese ships. Then Indian ships. Then French, Japanese, Omani. The deadlines worked. They were always working. Go to sleep. The world is not ending tonight.
