An Enhanced Risk (3/5, orange) is in place for parts of eastern Colorado and southeast Wyoming today. Risks include very large hail up to 3.5 inches, damaging winds over 75 mph, and a few tornadoes this afternoon/evening.

Could be a sneaky tornadic supercell in the Nebraska Panhandle; surface low forming in eastern Colorado is pinwheeling moisture north. Extra low-level spin along the warm front, in tandem with low level jet, could support an evening tornado.

HIGH IMPACT weather expected across the South today. We have a tornado risk that is believe isn't getting the attention it needs & we have a high risk of flash flooding. The tornado threat will be a dangerous one because most that do form will be rain wrapped. I have the Nadocast graphic below because I personally think it has a better idea with the tornado risk today. The flooding risk is life threatening. I included the new HRRR which only goes out 18 hours. Don't get hyper focused on the totals for any specific town, but take form this that the general idea is that some areas will get end up with double digit rainfall totals. We also will have gusty winds from a strong low level jet going across the South today & tonight. This will mix to the surface in the form of strong wind gust. This combined with saturated grounds will likely lead to downed trees.
