We were celebrating some wins today and thinking back to the closest we've come (so far!) to catching Atomic Habits on the WSJ bestseller list. Writing The Unsold Mindset changed our lives, and we're grateful to everyone who's connected with us here because of it!

Well, we’ve officially started the work on Book 2. No timeline yet, but we are so excited about the new concept. It’s the natural evolution of the mindset content we are so passionate about, and it applies to WAY more than sales. Stay tuned…

Call us old fashioned, but if someone is paying you for something, even if it’s not a lot, you owe it to them to give them your very best work.

A reminder for all the procrastinators out there: "The 15-Minute Rule" Any business task can be started in 15 minutes. If you can't find 15 minutes, the problem isn't time - it's commitment.

What a great story and review of The Unsold Mindset. Thanks for sharing these insights!

Last week at the IT Bookworm Club 📚, I read a book that changed the way I think about selling. The Unsold Mindset by @ColinandGarrett and @gjbrown33 Explaining the book to others made the lessons sink in even deeper, and honestly, it changed how I see "selling" altogether. The biggest shift? Selling isn’t about closing. It’s about connecting. 🤝 This book reminded me that the best salespeople don’t sound like salespeople at all. They sound like real people curious, honest, and focused on helping, not pushing. Some takeaways that stuck: ✅ Stop selling, start serving ✅ Be honest, not persuasive ✅ Ask with curiosity, listen with empathy ✅ Build trust, not transactions ✅ Relationships > Revenue ✅ Don’t push the sale help If you’ve ever felt like traditional selling didn’t feel right… This book permits you to do it your way the human way. Big thanks to our moderator @mitulgolakiya and Other reviewer Chetan Patel, shared The Cold Start Problem and hearing how different his book was from mine sparked some really meaningful conversations. Different books, different lenses and yet, each story offered something valuable #raininfotech #SalesMindset #Authenticity #BookReview #TheUnsoldMindset #ServeNotSell #Twitter

@davidcummings You can’t change the world - yours or anyone else’s - if you can’t move people. And that’s selling. David - have you read The Unsold Mindset yet? It fits so well with your post. If you haven’t read it, send us a DM and we’ll send you a copy!

Last week, I listened to an entrepreneur deliver his pitch, and by the end, I was struck by how deeply he believed in his company’s vision. His conviction was contagious, transforming his belief into mine. All entrepreneurs believe in their work, but some have a unique ability to persuade others to share their perspective. I describe this as a transfer of belief from one person to another. Yes, it’s a form of selling, but it’s far more profound. In 2014, I met Tope Awotona, the founder of Calendly, at the Atlanta Tech Village. I asked the usual questions: Why did you start the business? Why now? What’s going well? What’s not going well? What’s next? He shared his passion for building a simple, beautiful interface to make scheduling meetings effortless. Today, we take such tools for granted, but back then, scheduling was cumbersome, slow, and inefficient. By the end of our conversation, Tope had transferred his belief that there was a better way, and that he was the best person to make it happen. Yes, I was sold, but it was so much more. I believed. Sales has always been a critical role for entrepreneurs. Nothing happens until someone, somewhere, is sold. However, we’ve all encountered an founder who failed to convince us of a product’s value or worth. They couldn’t transfer their belief. As an entrepreneur, I recommend reframing the concept of selling as transferring belief in your solution and vision. Belief comes from a deeper, more meaningful place, carrying greater conviction. A sale can feel superficial or transactional. Moving forward, focus on transferring belief rather than just closing a deal.

@FerraroOnAir That's a great one - can see a bunch of use cases for that. Garrett just used Claude to create a personal board of directors that he now consults with on decisions and plans. It's pretty incredible stuff.

@ColinandGarrett Right now, my favorite use case is listening to a client’s transcript from an interview, speech, or podcast appearance then asking it to pull out specific patterns that I’ve pre-identified. I realize this isn’t a specific prompt, but hopefully it shows how powerful it can be.
