DA Greg Willis Announces 47-Year Sentence for Career Criminal Caught with 70 Grams of Meth After Attempting to Steal an ATM Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis announced today that Mike Douglas Stoker, 44, of Farmersville, Texas, was sentenced to 47 years in prison for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine after a jury convicted him. Career Criminal’s Crimes and Capture In April and May of 2024, a wave of thefts and burglaries struck Collin and Hunt Counties. Investigator Tristan Varvil of the @CollinCoSO linked them all to Mike Stoker, a repeat offender with a history of felony convictions. In May 2024, deputies conducting surveillance caught Stoker in the act—using a stolen truck to yank an ATM from a convenience store. Stoker fled, but his accomplice was arrested. Based on information from the arrest, investigators immediately secured and executed a search warrant at Stoker’s residence. Inside, Investigator Robert Merritt discovered over 70 grams of meth locked in a nightstand, along with scales, empty baggies, and prepped doses for distribution—clear evidence of drug trafficking. @McKinneyPolice Narcotics Detective Joe Arp, a veteran in drug enforcement, testified that Stoker possessed over 280 doses of meth—far beyond personal use. A forensic analysis of Stoker’s phone, conducted by @WyliePD Detective Chris Meehan, revealed dozens of drug sale conversations, further proving his role as a dealer. Justice Served: 47 Years in Prison After the jury found Stoker guilty, prosecutors introduced evidence of his staggering criminal history—17 prior convictions, including 11 felonies for drug trafficking and firearm offenses. • Since 2000, Stoker had been sent to state jail six times and served 21 months in federal prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm. • In 2021, he was sentenced to four years in Hunt County but was on parole when he resumed committing crimes in Collin County in 2024. • Due to his prior prison sentences, Texas law mandated a minimum of 25 years. Judge Benjamin Smith sentenced Stoker to 47 years in prison.
