I love the implication that no younger scientists will ever measure up to the greatness of the current ones. String theory, among other things, has an absolutely massive ego problem.

Had a fantastic time giving a Centre for Theory and Computation Seminar at @UofMaryland yesterday. It was such a great time that I forgot to take any pictures (plus it was super rainy), so here’s my talk title slide :)

Some people are asking if I've had a falling out with @BretWeinstein No I follow Thomas Jefferson's advice: "Let friends be wrong" Of course, said friends don't think they're wrong, but that's another matter (how is truth determined, etc.?) In his convo with Joe Rogan, Bret floated (suggested, hypothesized, "just asking questions") that: 1. HIV may not be the prime cause of AIDS It is & Skeptic showed how the causal link is known: skeptic.com/reading_room/T… 2. mRNA manufacturers willing & knowingly sold dangerous & deadly vaccines to the public for profit & will continue to do so in the future on other mRNA platforms I asked for documentation; Bret says he has none 3. Kary Mullis's death was "mysterious" & possibly linked to Anthony Fauci I asked Kary's widow if she thought his death was in any way mysterious. She said no: 6-way heart bypass + Pneumonia QED. These are simply factual errors that can be corrected by fact-checking A final note to Bret & his brother @EricRWeinstein : I love Joe Rogan and listen to his show regularly & have been on many times myself. And I love you guys too! But if you have serious challenges to mainstream scientific consensus opinions you need to present them in scientific/scholarly journals and/or professional meetings so they can be properly assessed among professionals. It's not a perfect system, but it's the best one we have. Podcasts are not peer review.

Woke up at 5 AM and did a thing: I defended my PhD @ictstifr! Officially a doctor now, although not the kind you'd find very useful! Thanks to all who were with me in this journey: mentors, collaborators, friends, and family. This thesis was rightfully dedicated to my parents!
