Having the personality type where you’re “calm” in chaotic environments and not reactive, where you don’t seem visibly rattled, and adjust when other people are, can lead people to believing you can tolerate more than you can, or that you’re always fine/can figure things out.

As a reminder, one of the strongest arguments for masking continuously in public is the fact that we interact directly and indirectly with others that don't have the agency to mask themselves because of disability, lack of information, and no access to respirators.

Learning is a constant ongoing process. There’s also a lot of disability history and information you won’t learn apart from listening to and directly interacting with a variety of disabled people.

I think one of the most important things if you're new to disability or even if you're not, but just haven't done this before is to try to learn about disabilities that aren't your own and disability history. Don't only narrowly focus on your own disability.

Imo Dwayne McDuffie is one of the top superhero storytellers ever, right next to Jack Kirby, Frank Miller, and Alan Moore. He elevated every single project he was even slightly involved in. Sorely missed.
