@prithvii @Maharattakshtra There was nothing like Pathari rashtrakuta branch lol. Jejja Rashtrauta who defeated karnatas was a nephew of Govinda III. The inscription u posted and the one posted by @Maharattakshtra clearly shows karnata was not an ethnic identity

@Maharattakshtra Pathari Rashtrakutas (minor MP branch) defeated Lata Chalukya (Badami Chalukya vassals), calling them “Karnatas”. Una ins. shows Saurashtra Chalukyas (Pratihara vassals) defeating “Karnatas” (Imperial Rashtrakutas). By your lowIQ ChaMarathi logic, are Chalukyas non-Kannada too?

On the eve of Marathi new year lets eradicate the biggest misconception that “Rashtrakutas were kannadigas/kannada dynasty” the Pathari Pillar Inscription (A.D. 861) of the Rashtrakuta King Parabala. If the Rashtrakutas were "Karnatas" why does their own prasasti (eulogy) brag about defeating karnata army repeatedly ? The inscription explicitly states that the ancestor of the Rashtrakuta family after "defeating thousands of Karnata soldiers seized the Lata kingdom" to take the Lata kingdom. The Pathari Bheemgaja is actually a 36-foot Garuda Stambha erected in 861 CE by the Rashtrakuta King Parabala. This fine-calligraphed pillar was dedicated to Vishnu, the Garuda-crested column remains a testament to Parabala’s legacy. You don’t "defeat" your own ethnicity and record it as a military conquest in your family's official history. This consistently proves Karnata was purely a regional/political term only and not an ethnicity, Claiming Rashtrakutas as "Kannadiga" isn't just a misinterpretation, it is directly contradicted by the dynasty’s own inscriptional records. The claim that they are "Kannadiga" is a modern appropriation that ignores the dynasty’s own records of conquering the Karnata army. The Rashtrakutas were the architects of the Maharatta geopolitical identity appropriating them as "Kannada" isn't just a mistake, it is utter denial of the very inscriptions they left behind.

@TinkuJi37008557 Not just title but his first name was also proper marathi even when his inscription is found in karnataka. He's not claiming any north connection or similar titles like northern chauhan, this ends the debate itself. x.com/i/status/19837…
The Chalukya@The__Chalukya

We had already identified that " Javugi " is a proper marathi name & after examining all the available sources, we found that there are only two Javugi recorded in history. The 2nd one is from Kataka (Modern Chhatrapati sambhajinagar) as recorded in 13th ce text Lilacharitra.

Maratha Chavhans/Chavans do not trace their lineage to the northern Chauhans or the Śākambharī branch of Chāhamānas. They descend from a distinct Deccan-based Chāhamāna branch that operated independently and appears in records as vassals of the Chalukyas and the Seuna Jadhavas.

@_Nrptanya_ The Chavan Marathas who claim descent from Northern Chauhans have given 4 CMs to Maharashtra. They mogg their Parent clan in terms of Political dominance.
