Ekeler said his reason for leaving nebraska was he likes to feel challenged. He felt he had special teams on cruise control and needed something else to do. Special teams was improved but for sure wouldn't say it was on cruise control. Lots could have been improved. 247sports.com/college/nebras…

Nebraska is now 10 games into the 2026 season. They've beat two #1 seeds (Texas and Texas Tech) 8 of their 10 games have been against Top 25 ranked teams. (One being UCF who isn't ranked but receiving votes and a very good team). There is not a team in the country who is facing tougher competition consistently.

Nebraska played a team for the first time this season that was objectively better than them. Pretty insane to think to took until February for it to happen.
