People who watch the new body cam footage and think "yeah, this woman deserved to die" just cannot be reasoned with. Peak delusion. because the state isn’t a private actor when it uses lethal force, it’s acting on behalf of all of us neutrality preserves legitimacy until necessity is proven not because officers are assumed wrong, but because systems with coercive power have to meet higher standards to remain legitimate its a pretty basic principle in ethics

quick question: should the government ever get the benefit of the doubt when it kills someone, or should it always have to prove necessity first?

@MagusWazir courts already judge split-second decisions… the question is whether the public should presume state killings justified before investigation it shouldn’t

@Cos0x The proof comes during the investigation "benefit of the doubt" just means judging the action based on the split second information the officer had at the time, not with perfect hindsight
