Wireless as an organisation is finished if they back down. The festival has been losing money every year for years. They will struggle to find sponsors who will pay as much after all this controversy. Whoever they announce as a replacement won’t match Kanye’s pull + all the refunds that will happen by people disappointed at not getting to see Kanye. Their best play is to hold steady. If the Government tries to ban Kanye, take it to court, all the way to the Supreme Court if needed. There is no legal basis to block Kanye when he can clearly show his clinical diagnosis of bi-polar disorder. The UK Government will lose, it will be embarrassing for them and the media attention towards it all will mean that the festival will be the most watched event of the summer. Win, win, win.
