@ChargePointnet, I wasted over 3 hours this week waiting for service to pick up the phone. First, I waited 45 min for them to not help me. Then, I waited 30 min to schedule a callback that never happened. Tonight, i waited 75 min on the line... horrible service.

@vikasnavaratna In grad school, we had made up new names for additional days when we didn't take time off during the weekend 😅. Just as if the week kept on going.

When you think it is the weekend, but more days keep coming at you.

cryo hivemind: anyone else having trouble ordering and getting filter paper for their vitrification device? Have tried 2 suppliers to no avail. I am not above punching holes like in the good ol' days of 2004. Just wondering if it's me or if others are experiencing the same

CTFFIND5 looks great! Congrats @GrigorieffLab ! Sadly, the way things are nowadays, the majority of labs will have to wait until it’s been integrated into @cryosparc before they’ll be able to try it out (assuming that ever happens) biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Why did we get rid of this ?

@Nexperion @sonjawelsch It's been working quite weel on Arctica and Krios G3/G4 on Win7 and Win10. I still left the option to disable the aperture commands in case of problems or for older scopes that don't have these options.

@sonjawelsch @CryoJB Unfortunately, only via a workaround 🛠 and not completely functional yet... but certainly something to check out!

@ATinyGreenCell I don't think Bluetooth is a good protocol to dive into if your controller has WiFi. You'll have access to many more protocols for moving the data around.

I'm at a crossroads and need your help. Should my lab devices be completely offline or run a Bluetooth app on your phone to connect to them? The app would be to turn on, ping, and view data in progress. Offline would mean all data on microSD card and cant see until end of exp.

@alexjamesnoble For all I know it's a play on Pipeline. Should be pronounced like Pipe (PYP).

From having first-hand experience with this software, it is incredible. The tomo part particularly, fills a gap in the field. Never build a tomogram manually again. And for SPA preprocessing, you can't get faster than this with parallelization up to your cluster limits.

I spent more than half a day writing the first paragraph of a research document that is due in a few weeks. Now that it is written, I want to tear the word file, set it on fire, & dance around its pyre. In case the imagery wasn't clear, I don't understand a word of it. I hate it.
