I’d like to share an important product update: the launch of Shield Mode - a new protected trading environment that brings the full 1001x experience directly onto Aster. This launch represents a major step toward our mission of building a safer, more efficient, and more flexible on-chain trading platform for traders. Why We Built Shield Mode Many traders are probably familiar with 1001x, the fully on-chain perps that supports up to 1001x leverage, no slippage and no fee for opening positions, where trades are fully on-chain, where gas fee applies with all trade being broadcasted on-chain. A few months back, we launched Hidden Order on Aster Perpetual, offering a privacy option for traders to hide their orders from public orderbook while still accessing deep liquidity. It was an important step toward privacy. But traders wanted more. Shield Mode is our answer, combining the 1001x trading experience with stronger protection for strategic intent. It’s designed for traders who want maximum performance on-chain, without broadcasting their moves to the market. What Is Shield Mode? Shield Mode is a new trading mode integrated directly into Aster Perpetual, designed to unify the 1001x experience under one seamless interface and account system. With Shield Mode, users no longer need to switch chains when moving between Perpetual and 1001x. Traders can open and close positions simply by choosing long or short without the orderbook. The trading experience preserves the core appeal of 1001x—up to 1001x leverage, no slippage, no position opening fee, while eliminating the position closing fee entirely in Shield Mode and becoming even faster and cheaper (no gas costs). A New Level of Flexibility: Choose How You Pay Fees A key feature of Shield Mode is the introduction of a flexible fee model, giving traders control over how they want to pay for the service. Users will ultimately be able to choose between commission and PnL modes. - Commission mode: user pays a low fixed % fee on each transaction - PnL mode: users only share % of the profit when you make a profit, pay nothing when you trade is not profitable. And as part of the Shield Mode launch promotion: All fees are 0 until the end of this year. This new flexibility empowers traders to pick the model that best suits their strategies and risk profile, enhancing the overall trading experience. Looking ahead, Aster Chain represents the next phase of Aster’s journey. Bringing the 1001x experience directly into Aster Perpetual through Shield Mode is the first step toward preparing for Aster Chain. We’re excited to keep building with our community and move forward step by step toward the next chapter of Aster.
