IRL ONBOARDING TO $URANUS Today I met my lawyer and we got talking about the markets. Naturally, the conversation turned to crypto since he knows I invest. He asked if I had taken any new positions. I said, “Yes, I’ve positioned into $URANUS.” He went from looking perplexed to bursting out laughing. I explained it was a memecoin launched on Jupiter Launchpad, which he found almost as funny. The daily 6fig PNLs, the inside jokes, the "uhhh 7-fig hell" posts, the social cliques (aka cabals)... All of this is designed to make you feel like the "out crowd" and play like a fish. You'll be made to feel like you need to rely on other's opinions instead of sharing your own. That's why they call it Key Opinion Leader... The game is inherently PVP. Check the wallets of the people that tweet "PVE", they're the ones who sell the earliest. Real talk if you want to be profitable in the crypto game long enough, you can not strip yourself of the skill of thinking for yourself. One of the biggest lessons I have learnt in crypto is: - New meta/trend (Memes, L1s, AI, RWA, dex or whatever the hell is in) is what will grow your wealth. - $BTC will preserve your wealth. Striking this balance is absolutely essential. There is not a right or wrong answer of what the balance should be as it depends on what you started with - what you've made and what you can afford to lose. For example if you've caught a 100x lick on meme coins and have turned $3k to $300k - and irl you have less than $10k to your name - it is very advisable to have atleast 70% of your portfolio is in BTC or stables and have to focus on preserving the new found wealth. Assume the play above is doge - and you've found yourself with $300k of doge coin - ask yourself, if there was $300k of cash on my kitchen table right now - would I chuck the entire bag into doge if I wasn't exposed knowing what I know ? If the answer is a big no - that is your biggest sign to rebalance the portfolio. Keeping a strong bag of BTC is essential - after 2021 once I made a decent enough bag to retire I have never let my stable/BTC balancing fall below 50% even when I'm full risk on. Liquidation events like Friday are rare but always possible - especially when we have a leader of the free world with the temperament of a teenage girl. This is why perps should be used as a tool to protect the portfolio rather than to grow the portfolio. If you've have $50k of stables - rather than buying $20k of spot - you can take a temporary bet of $10k with 2x leverage protecting $10k of capital. This means if you're farming yield or have stables deposited in high APR protocols you can risk 20% of the port knowing that the rest of the bag is earning. It does not mean you 5x leverage the $50k stables to open a $250k position. Don't let these retards with their hyperliquid screenshots bait you into gambling your life savings. Life is not that easy - there's people much smarter than you in these spaces, if things were that simple everyone would be in high leverage perps.
