I have a daughter with a Ghanaian lady. The mother and daughter constantly complain to me about the hatred Ghanaian men have towards South African men. The Government of Ghana should not think we don’t know how xenophobic Ghanaians are. Ghanaians are the worst xenophobic people, especially towards South African men. Their government can go to hell, they have multiple types of Ngizwes and Phakelumthakathi. Sadly South Africans like Ghananians.

Being African doesn’t make anyone entitled, true. But it also doesn’t make anyone a target. No one is asking to “overcrowd” South Africa. People move for work, safetyand opportunity, just like South Africans do across the continent and beyond. That’s normal everywhere. The real issue isn’t fellow Africans. It’s pressure on jobs, inequality, and leadership gaps in your country. Turning that frustration on other Africans doesn’t solve it…it just creates fear and division. We can have honest conversations about immigration and opportunity without normalising hostility or violence. Africans are not your problem.

The issue is that many South Africans don’t migrate to other African countries for better opportunities, so there’s rarely any form of retaliation in situations like this. I blame our leaders for making things so difficult back home that people are forced to leave and hustle elsewhere.
