The funny thing is that most Anambra people hated Peter Obi for not being selfish. I remembered the night Goodluck was declared winner of the 2011 presidential election. During the day, I was in school and saw numerous of Army vans in convoys with Northerners filled in it. the army was already taking the northerners to barracks in Onitsha for safety as ordered by the state government because they already had a premonition of the fight that was gonna take place. I guess they thought the easterners love to spill blood for no just cause. Even when Jonathan was later declared president that night around 7pm or 8pm there about. The Mallams that have a kiosk infront of our yard in Onitsha, it was still us the tenants that went downstairs amidst the jubilation that was going on and helped him to pack his goods and took it up to our landlord flat. That night, about 5 Mallams that sells close in our street, they all slept in our landlords house. The address of street is 8b Bosah street Onitsha, close to Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity Onitsha. So I don’t know where you guys got the information that Peter Obi sent the Northerns back to North. Cus since the day you guys have been peddling this rumors, I haven’t seen anyone northern that came out to say that he was deported back to north by Peter Obi. While we are playing politics, let us not do politics of lies and propaganda. A new Nigeria is POssible.
Abdul-Aziz Na'ibi Abubakar@jrnaib2

If, as a Governor in Nigeria, you ever drove Northerners or Southerners out of your state or forced them to wear identity tags as if they were foreigners, you have no business contesting for the Nigerian presidency. A tribalist should focus on becoming a leader within his own tribe or region, rather than seeking to lead a diverse nation like Nigeria that encompasses various ethnic groups and religions.

You may remember that after the 2015 protest, they tried to renovate the girls' hostels but left the two boys' hostels in total shambles. There are 8 hostels for girls and 2 for boys. People lived 6–10 per standard-sized room. The indignity with which the boys and their hostels were treated is unbelievable. DVC after DVC, it only got worse. Now even the girls' hostels have not been spared this shame.
Ugonna Okeke@Victorokeke_

I got into UNN in 2015 and the two male hostels in UNEC were exactly like this. Students would paint their rooms, fix curtains on the broken windows, fix electrical wires and charging sockets, fetch water from underground wells and take it to whatever series your room is, sometimes the 5th floor, while climbing stairs with almost broken guardrails, and so further systemic rot. It was like a self-help project. Like living in an abandoned property. One of the greatest causes of decay here is that students were meant to cook but there were no kitchens. So they cooked on the walkways lined up with wooden kitchen cabinets. Then, there was no laundry area. You could be on the 3rd floor and someone pours water from the 5th floor and you'd be drenched by it if you're unfortunate enough to be walking on the aisle at the time. Male students are treated with the most indignity in hostel accommodation at UNN. I also studied at the University of Uyo and stayed in the dormitory for 4 years. It was never this bad. Perhaps because Uyo never allowed students to cook in the dormitory. We bought food. But they treated us with dignity, at least in our living experience.

Look at the UNN male hostel Mr. Agha Egwu Inya (UNN PRO) said it's clean. He further said that i'm demarketing my alma mater. He said students are the ones that brings the bed bugs to the school. Our students can't continue to live in this mess anymore. It must stop!

This has been on since as far back as 2019 in UNEC. In fact that was the beginning of the mess, they stopped putting on Generator for Students at night, I remember Architecture Students had to buy their own generator and fuel it themselves. Cleaners began to go on occasional strikes and leave the school a mess for weeks. Overgrown greenery turned to bushes on campus, Huge refuse dumps all scattered around hostels, little to no street lights working. Univeristy of Nigeria, Nsukka and Enugu Campus need intervention. Our Alma mater is losing its glory.

My English definitely has a Nigerian intonation, but what did you expect? For the past 18 years I have been speaking English at home with someone that was born and brought up in Nigeria. It’s not about pretending to be someone I am not, it’s just allowing myself to be who I have become.

@SKaizen101 Whether it's etiti or isi, it doesn't change the fact that politicians will still drive up the cost of governance while doing absolutely nothing to help the public. Creation of new states in Nigeria cannot address systemic corruption and abuse of power.

And this was one of the reasons why Anioma state was not created in 1996, and Ebonyi State was created in its place. At least, the talk about Anioma state being created can now die a natural death. The only case for it was that South East has only 5 states, and Anioma state will make it 6 bringing the region's number of states to parity with others, except the North West that has 7. Any new state to be created in the name of the South East will be from the state and part of the South East — any of Orlu, Adada, Anim State will be good.

You know what the real problem is? Some people are feeding their kids one sachet (12g) of Dano fat-filled milk, which has around 3g of protein. That same child might eat one egg a day (about 6g of protein), or half a Titus fish (around 10g). Meanwhile, a 9-year-old needs about 34g of protein daily, and that increases with age. Poverty. That’s the real problem no one is pointing out right now.

I want to show you one miracle of real estate in Nigeria. An estate in Asaba was launched in 2023 at the pre-sale price of ₦5.5 million. Currently, a plot in the same estate is selling for ₦75 million. Before you argue or get confused, I want to teach you something about real estate. Take note if you can. When a property is at its pre-sale price, it means that the property is selling below its market value. Why will a company sell a portion of her estate below the market value? Calm down. I will explain. They do this to raise fast money to either complete the acquisition of the land, to enhance the land or speed up the perfecting of the land title. So, if they have 100 plots, they can sell 20 plots at the pre-sale price to raise fast money. This method has proven to be more effective than taking bank loans that come with a lot of bottlenecks. Commercial banks will be asking for an arm and a leg just to release money to developers. If you were lucky to buy at the pre-sale price, property appreciation will be looking like magic to you and everyone you try to explain it to. And people who don’t know jack about how these things work will summarize it that the land is overpriced. Once you enhance the land or perfect the title, it’s only natural for the property to appreciate. Let me break down some of the ways developers enhance a land. I will add what perfecting a title entails. — Creating access road to the estate (by the government) and inside the estate (by the developer) — Building a streetlight inside the estate and bringing electricity into the estate — Building a quality gatehouse, drainage system and fencing the entire estate — Building an estate management office inside the estate — Building a basket ball court inside the estate — Surveying the land, especially if it was bought as an unregistered property — Getting the C of O from the government If the neighborhood is already habitable and the developer manages to get these things (plus other promised features on the way), it’s only natural for them to increase the price. When you hear or read that a particular land went from ₦5.5 million to ₦75 million in 3 years, it’s not magic. There are indices to prove why it happened. Some of them are the things I listed above. Lucky early investors will be smiling. Whether they want to keep it, sell at the current market value or on distress (let’s say half the price), they will still be extremely profitable. Nothing favours you in real estate as an investor like getting the property early. What you paid ₦5.5 million for, your neighbor will pay ₦75 million. Stop waiting to do it tomorrow. If you can afford it, do it now. When you find a genuine property with a great future and in the right location, verify the company or individual selling it and you have the budget, go all in. © Emenike Emmanuel C.

He was detained in the morning & since then till now they’ve refused to tell him the basis arrest. His lawyers got to the said station and requested to see the DPO, the said DPO refused to see his lawyers. WHY IS THE DPO HIDING? She later came out and instructed her officers to walk his lawyers out from the station. @PoliceNG @nigerianpolice @PoliceNG_CRU @TunjiDisu1

I have never come across a kid that suffered so much like Ochanya. Sh returns from school 2pm. Victor returns home by 3 and then forces himself on her. He continued r@ping her for months. Then one day, the Father came home and caught his son raping the innocent girl with tears in her eyes crying for help. When she saw her "Father" she thought help has arrived. Instead of stopping his son in his early 20, he pushed the son away from her, and climbed the innocent girl. The next day, the man canceled his 1pm lecture and returned home very early from work to wait for the girl. Immediately she arrived from school, he began to rape her. His son walked in, and took turn. It continued for years. Father and son raping a girl of eight years turn by turn, year after year—tell me something more cruel and barbaric. The little girl from 8 years became 10, and became very sick. Winfred walked into them one day raping her and instead of reporting, she protected her father and sibling. The aunty, Winifred's mum found out, but she kept shut. When the doctor's test results came out, the family hid the results. Yes, she's an accomplice. At the early stage of discovering that Ochanya was sick, it could have been easier to treat, but she deprived her treatment. While the girl was sick, it didn't stop Winifred's Father and brother from still raping her. For five years, nobody in the family reported the case to the police. They were all aware. It was Ochanya that opened up when she was already dying, but Mr. Andrew like a Nigerian politician still fought his way through the case. Ochanya finally d!ed at 13, guess what! Winifred's Father influenced the doctor's autopsy. That's how heartless humans can be. Winfred is living her career as an "influencer" on X. Victor, the rapist is living his dream career as musician and Winfred always promotes his music here. The rapist-father is still a lecturer teaching teenagers. (Imagine a rapist among teenagers). But they deprived Ochanya her dream of becoming a medica doctor. Now Winifred just returned to X with a banger post, smiling sayiythe trend is funny, like she is not a willing accomplice of rape, but another family would weep at the thought of her family's wickedness. How do they sleep in that home knowing that they are all rapists, murderers and accomplices? Wini shouldn't be let free here until she testifies against her rapist father in the court. The court needs evidence, wini is the evidence but she has refused to be one. Until Justice is served, we remain Ochanya's voice. Ochanya deserves justice. Silence in the face of injustice is INJUSTICE—and evil.

It really sucks to be living in Enugu right now. 1. The heat is unbearable 2. No electricity to use your Fan or AC 3. Fuel is unaffordable now for your Gen. 4. There's no water to pour on your body to cool your body temperature because wells are dried up, rain has refused to fall, 85% of the residents don't have access to the govt piped and water, and tankers are becoming expensive. What could be worse than all these 🤦‍♂️

Tips for Writing Review Papers: A Guide for Graduate Students and Early Career Researchers. Writing a review paper is one of the most rewarding academic tasks for early career researchers. Unlike original research papers, review papers summarize, analyze, and interpret existing studies in a specific area. They help readers understand the progress, challenges, and future directions in a field. A well-written review paper not only strengthens your expertise but also increases your visibility as a researcher. As an author of multiple review articles in top-tier journals, here are practical tips for writing a high-quality review paper: 1. Choose a Clear and Relevant Topic. Start by selecting a topic that has academic importance, novelty, and a clear objective. Look for research areas with active publications but unresolved questions. A good review topic should summarize what has been done and highlight where more work is needed. 2. Identify the Authors and Their Roles. If you’re writing with collaborators, clearly define each person’s role. One might focus on literature collection, another on data visualization, and another on writing or editing. Teamwork ensures thorough coverage of the topic. 3. Select the Appropriate Journal Choose a journal that publishes review articles in your field. For instance, journals like Polymer Reviews or Reviews in Chemical Engineering specialize in comprehensive reviews. Check the journal’s scope, word limit, and citation style before submission. 4. Structure Your Paper Properly. A good review paper should have a logical structure, introduction, main sections (thematic or chronological), and conclusion. Use subheadings to make the paper easier to follow. Include tables or figures to summarize data, trends, or comparisons from different studies. 5. Add Critical Analysis and Recommendations. Go beyond summarizing past work. Critically evaluate studies by comparing methods, highlighting limitations, and suggesting how future research can improve. Include a convincing recommendation and outlook that shows the direction of the field. 6. Learn the Right Reading Techniques. Efficiently reading and analyzing papers is crucial. Focus on abstracts, methods, and conclusions to identify key ideas quickly. Organize your notes and references systematically using software like Mendeley or Zotero. Writing a review paper improves your understanding, writing, and analytical skills. For early career researchers, it is also a stepping stone to publishing more impactful original work in the future. Have you publish a review article before? Share your experience.

Last week Saturday armed robbers came to my site around 4am and stole my brand-new generator and 15 bags of nails. I went to Gwarimpa Police Station to report the issues. I met a lady at the front desk and told her what happened. After she wrote down the statement, she told me I must appreciate the NPF. I asked how, and she said I must send money to her before she links me up with the IPO. I sent her 5,000. She linked me up with the IPO. After giving the IPO my statement, the IPO asked for money again. I asked how much; she said 20,000 upwards. I asked her what the money was for; she said for the pen and paper I used for writing down my statement. 😭 @PoliceNG you guys should do better

In the 1990s, Korean Air had a terrible safety record. They had multiple fatal crashes within a short period. One of the most famous examples was Korean Air Flight 801, which crashed in Guam in 1997. When investigators studied the black box recordings, something strange showed up. The co-pilots and flight engineers often noticed problems. But they didn’t speak up clearly. Because culturally they were raised to be “respectful” to elders. So rather than tell the older main pilots: “Captain, you are descending too fast. Pull up now.” They would try to be respectful and say: “Captain… the weather radar seems… a little… concerning.” …and because of this, hundreds of people would die from Korean plane crashes. This is what is happening in Nigeria today, and it is pushed by young men such as this:
