
On 26 March 2026, the Odisha Biodiversity Board successfully organized a capacity-building program for 117 members from 12 Biodiversity Management Committees (BMCs) at Krushi Vigyan Kendra, Angul, covering the Angul Forest Division and Satkosia Wildlife Sanctuary.
The program was inaugurated by Dr. Sanjay Kumar Swain (RCCF), Angul Circle, and Sri Nitish Kumar (DFO), Angul Forest Division, with participation from district officers Sri Jai Shankar Pradhan and Dr. Satyanarayan Sahu.
Experts including Sri Debashish Mishra, Smt. Aisharya Sahu, Smt. Chinmayi Rai, Sri Jayashree Chhatriya, Sri Prasanna Kumar Behera, Sri Shishir Kumar Mishra, Dr. Subhransu Kumar Nayak, Dr. Pravat Kumar Das, and Dr. Shiv Prasad Parida shared valuable knowledge on biodiversity conservation.
Local BMC leaders—including Chairman Sri Viren Pradhan; members Sri Sushil Kumar Pradhan, Sri Pradeep Kumar Sahu, and Sri Muralidhar Behera; Treasurer Sri Shyam Sundar Das; and coordinators Sri Priyabrat Behera, Sri Likun Pradhan, Sri Rabindra Sahu, and Sri Vinay Sahu—actively participated, reinforcing community-led efforts toward sustainable biodiversity management in the region.
District officers and experts shared insights on forest and wildlife protection, agricultural biodiversity, plant conservation, and the sustainable management of local ecosystems. Participants also took an oath on forest fire prevention and biodiversity protection.
The event featured a photo exhibition by the Nature Environment and Wildlife Committee, highlighting the rich biodiversity of the region. 🌱🐾
