The Post Office scandal shows the power of television and television drama in particular to channel injustice. If there are any TV writers looking for a subject that could do with the same treatment, the cladding/building safety scandal is just waiting for you…

@MrHarryCole Lawyers represent people who do bad things. That’s the rule of law. That is civilisation. You owe your readers an apology for insulting them with this infantile, anti-democratic bilge. Cringingly embarrassing.

@LeeAndersonMP_ What is it about GB News presenters and commentators that they either don’t know what “mettle” means or can’t spell it?

Post Office Scandal. I said 👇 "Sir Ed Davey chose to believe the bosses not the workers without it seems hardly paying any attention to what the sub-postmasters were saying "This whole debacle shows us the mettle of a man who appears not fit for purpose. If he had an ounce of dignity he would stand down at the next election. Perhaps a stint in a Post Office would do him good." express.co.uk/news/politics/…

It would be nice if one of lessons from the PO scandal were to be that, rather than be outraged years later by a TV drama, people & politicians should speak out about scandalous events happening right now, with little public outrage.

There are 140,000 applications in the same situation as Maria: waiting for a decision from the Home Office, at risk of being treated in this appalling way when coming back to the country they call home.

@christopherhope You and he must explain why you don’t know that the Post Office runs its own prosecutions. The DPP has nothing to do with it. As the programme made clear. Withdraw your Tweet.

@latimeralder I think your maths is dodgy. £3 trillion / £40,000 is 75,000,000 which is 10,000,000 more than the population of the UK.

UK government wants us to spend in excess of £3,000,000,000,000 to hit #NetZero by 2050. That's a lot of money! £40,000 a person. But nobody's ever told me what 'problem' it'll fix. Or how UK will be a better place as a result. Thoughts?

@toryboypierce Could we focus on personal responsibility and liability not tinsel baubles? And as you’re a journalist perhaps you could read your copy for typos before posting.

Attempts to smear Sir Keir Starmer with reference to the Post Office Horizon scandal take on new levels of absurdity here: KS became DPP in 2008 not 2006 Lee Castleton was sued in civil not criminal courts The Post Office has conducted its own criminal prosecutions for centuries

Today is Tax Cut day in Chelsea & Fulham. Check out my video welcoming the Conservative Government’s typical £450 per annum National Insurance tax cut for my constituents. Contrast with Labour’s inevitable tax rises to pay for their £28,000,000,000 extra borrowing.

@Chris4SCambs @SCambsTories When National Insurance goes up it’s called National Insurance (something for your good). But when it comes down it’s called a tax (something nobody likes). If you want to get elected start with honesty.

@sophielouisecc “Not born in Britain” does not equal recently arrived. Prince Philip (remember him?) was born in Corfu. And he lived in several state owned properties at once. No-one objected to that, at least not on the ground that he was foreign born. And wasn’t Boris Johnson born in New York?

about 48%, close to half of all social housing in London goes to households headed by someone who was not born in Britain If young people want to have a future in our cities - it’s time we start calling for an end to this bullshit. Mass immigration is harming young people

There has been a clear breakdown of the division between civil service communications and Tory Party lies and propaganda. When I think of the fury of the press and Tory MPs when Labour DIDN’T do this!! Their indifference is all part of the decline in standards over which1/2

It’s a fact that tax collected in January is now lower than tax in December. It is also a fact that tax this January is higher than last January. No one should be celebrating a community note definitively saying “tax has not been cut”.
