The SBC has a much deeper problem than just women pastors. It doesn’t even understand preaching (as a whole, not every SBC pastor. I know several GREAT preachers). By and large it’s traded models like Spurgeon, DMLJ, Broadus, for plagiarism and props.

Prayer isn’t a performance. It’s a relationship. Don’t aim to pray "better" prayers. Aim to know God more deeply to align with His Word and His will. The power of prayer isn’t in the perfect words we speak, but in the perfect God who hears.

Have you ever wondered if God heard the prayer you offered? When answers don’t come right away, it’s easy to assume God isn’t listening. God’s silence is never indifference. God hears every word, works in every delay, and moves according to His will.

Your life is a microphone for the gospel. A faithful walk amplifies your witness, but a compromised walk mutes it. When your walk matches your words, people lean in. When it doesn’t, your message gets lost. The gospel never loses power, but the messenger can lose credibility.

Faith in faith won’t hold you. Belief in belief won’t save you. It’s not the intensity of your faith that matters, but the object of it. And when Jesus is that object, your faith stands firm.

Lots of Lane Kiffin opinions today. I don’t blame him for going to LSU nor do I blame him for assembling top tiered coaches immediately on his new staff. I don’t blame Ole Miss for telling him that he cannot coach in the playoff. The real issue is the NCAA calendar. Fix that.

In a pro-performance world that ties love to achievement and when guilt and pressure keep whispering you have to prove yourself, hear this: God does not love you because you are you. God loves you because God is God.

We want people to come to God, but they can’t come unless they see Christ. And they can’t see Christ unless they hear the gospel. That’s the point of 2 Corinthians 4:4-6 as we reverse engineer the passage. God opens eyes as we share the good news and His Spirit draws people.

In this Shandon Plus podcast, let’s see what the Bible actually says about the Holy Spirit.... Letting Him (not 'it') live in and work through us. The full episode can be found: shandon.org/shandon-plus/

"What is spiritual warfare?" Before you fight the wrong battle, understand the real one. The battles you can’t see are often the ones that matter most. Full Shandon + Podcast episode on spiritual warfare is linked below. shandon.org/shandon-plus/

Voddie was a bold man, but also a humble man. A faithful brother. A true Christian leader. I’ll never forget that interaction—and I’ll always thank God for the example Voddie Baucham set for us all.

And that evening, Voddie—this bold, respected leader—took the time to reach out with a kind and humble message of congratulations. That simple gesture spoke volumes. He didn’t have to do that. But he did.

Voddie Baucham was a titan of the faith. My only personal interaction with Voddie came the year we both were announced as candidates for SBC Pastor’s Conference President.

May Kirk's sacrifice be a tipping point for our nation. Civility over violence. Truth over lies. Light over darkness. Just as Telemachus’ stand changed Rome, may this day change us as a nation.

But that moment ended the gladiator games forever. Different day. Same truth. Charlie Kirk wasn’t perfect, but he stood in the public square—bold, unashamed, speaking God’s truth where it wasn’t welcome. And like Telemachus, he paid with his life.

There is a legend that dates back to the days of the Roman Colosseum. Crowds packed in that stadium to cheer as gladiators killed. Then one man—Telemachus—jumped into the arena and shouted, “In the name of Christ, stop!” They struck him down.
