I'm proud to use my lived experience every day to try better our peers experience of the NHS/role model a unique sense of recovery.
The comments in the press this week have shown me we still have a long way to go to break the stigma.

It was incredible seeing the amazing lived experience director post being advertised by @mpftnhs and equally as infuriating seeing the denigration of the role over the last few days by politicians, media outlets, and other health professionals. I've seen horror at the thought

I work using my lived experience of accessing numerous NHS mental health services. Laying myself bare often to see less of what greatly harmed me and more of what helped me. I refuse to let the words of poorly researched articles prevent me from continuing this work.

The writers of the headlines do not understand Lived Experience & have not even tried. They do not know what it takes, to openly name yourself as Lived Experience. They do not know what we have experienced or the courage, vulnerability, strength, determination & fight we have 🔥

@DrAbdullahMia @melanieanneball don’t let this I’ll informed, cheap jibe at these valuable LX roles hurt you. It’s a jab at the NHS in reality but we march on and are bigger and better than this. These colleagues are part of modernisation and the future and here to stay!

This is so infuriating and saddening, I'm sorry @melanieanneball is caught in this. Why is it such a threat to have a valued LXP role? Amongst the rhetoric of fairer systems, patient focus and ensuring balance in approaches, whose envy and fear is destroying this?!
