“By running box-to-box, players will get better in running box-to-box” Unfortunately, many players around the world still have to run around the pitch, in the woods or run box-to-box. Players don’t need fitness to play football, players will get fitter by playing football! ⚽️

Q: Would sprints have the same relationship? Or possibly the opposite?
Certainly a common stance that athletes may end up with more sprint exposure because they are out of position and on catch up, rather than in control of the game. Therefore less likely successful?
