Dear Ikem, Thank you for your feedback. Did you, Ikem, have any choice in determining your ethnicity? No. You are only Igbo by accident of fate. God could have made you a Lukumi Yoruba or a Northerner. Hating people solely based on their ethnicity is a liability. In fact, it is wrong to hate another human. You can hate what they do, but not the person. And even if you must hate others (you shouldn't), do so based on things they can control, such as their character. But to detest them based on attributes that are beyond their control does not reflect well on our judgement as humans. And the funny thing is, linguistically, Lukumi Yoruba is the closest language to Igbo and Efik. They are from the same Niger-Congo language family. Let's start with the basic thing man searches for: God. God in Igbo is not Chukwu. That is a misnomer. Chukwu is actually two words. Chi and Ukwu conflated. The actual word for God in Igbo is Olisa, which corresponds to the word for God in Lukumi Yoruba, Orisha. Then you move to individuals: in Lukumi Yoruba, children are known as Omo, whereas in Igbo, they are known as Umu. The words for body parts, which is the easiest way in etymology to find out if two languages are related, are eerily similar. Mouth in Lukumi os Enu, and Onu in Igbo. The ear is called Eti in Yoruba and Nti in Igbo. Nose is Imu in Lukumi Yoruba and Imi in Igbo. Teeth are Agbon in Lukumi Yoruba and Agba in Igbo. Then you move on to animals and goats in Lukumi Yoruba is Ewure, meanwhile, it is Ewu in Igbo. The Yoruba word for a male chicken or cockerel is Akuko, and in Igbo, the same animal is called Okuko. Stone or rock os Okuta in Lukumi and Okwute in Igbo. Then you move on to the most essential thing for life on Earth: water. In Lukumi Yoruba, it is Omi; in Igbo, it is Mmiri. Then, to the commonest forms of communication, which will be questions. What in Yoruba is Kini, and in Igbo it is Ogini. So you see, Ikem, when you come down to the basics, these Yorubas you insult are genetically and linguistically closer to you, as an Igbo, than the Hebrews of Israel. You cannot find a single word in Hebrew that has linguistic affinity to Biblical Hebrew. But there are hundreds of words of common origin between Lukumi Yoruba and Igbo. Even Peter Obi's surname has the same root as the Yoruba word for king, Oba. Not what you will like to hear, I know. Yet, truth is bitter but better than butter in a batter! Thank you again, Ikem, and may God bless you. Reno Omokri Ambassador Designate to Mexico. Gospeller. Peter Obi, Are You Weak Or Wicked? Dear Peter Obi, Having given false information to the effect that Sheikh Ahmad Tijjani Umar was arrested by the Department of State Security, when in fact he was not arrested and has come out himself in a video to call your claims false and dishonest, don't you think it is in the interest of the public and of justice for you to correct the fallacious claims you made, so that they do not spread further and result in a breakdown of law and order? Failure to do so would appear as though you actually intended by your statement to incite members of the public to violence. This is a test of leadership. Will you own up to your fake news and correct yourself, or will you leave your false narrative to fester? Making a mistake is a human weakness. Refusing to correct it when you have the power to do so is human wickedness. So, Peter, which is it? Are you weak or wicked? Reno Omokri Ambassador Designate to Mexico. Gospeller. PRESS RELEASE The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) conducted elections on Saturday, 21st February 2026, for the positions of Chairman in the six Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as well as for 62 Councillorship seats. The results of the election were announced late Saturday except that of Kuje Area Council which was announced at 3:30pm on Sunday 22nd February 2026. The Commission appreciates the residents of the FCT for their peaceful conduct and cooperation throughout the electoral process. According to the Commission’s Election Operations Dashboard, 45% of polling units opened for voting as at 8:30am, while all polling units were confirmed open by 10:00am on Election Day. The Commission, however, noted challenges encountered by some voters in locating their designated polling units. Contrary to the claim in some quarters that some voters were migrated to another/ new polling units different from their original polling units, the Commission wishes to state categorically that voters were not migrated, what the Commission did was to create split polling units in large polling units with voters registration of over 1,250 voters to avoid congestion on election day. The split units are located some few meters away from the original polling units within the same premises. The public will recall that the Commission displayed the Register of Voters at designated centres/split polling units four days to the Area Council elections to enable voters confirm their details and polling unit locations. Text messages/emails were sent to the affected voters on Wednesday 18th, Thursday 19th, Friday 20th and Saturday 21st February 2026 indicating the actual locations of their split polling units, were intended solely as reminders to assist them in identifying their current polling units. The Commission also wishes to inform the public that as at 2:00pm on Sunday, 22nd February 2026, the upload of polling unit results to the INEC Result Viewing (IReV) Portal had reached 93%. Residents of the FCT and other interested members of the public can access results from the six Area Councils via the portal. While the Commission remains concerned about voter apathy, it notes a significant improvement compared to the previous election. In the 2022 Area Council election, a total of 148,685 voters were recorded, representing 9.4% of registered voters. In the current election, over 239,210 voters voted, representing approximately 15% of the 1,680,315 total registered voters in the FCT. The delay in the results of Kuje Area Council is due to the difficult terrain of Kabi ward, which delayed the final collation of the Area Council results. The Commission appreciates the electorate in the FCT for their cooperation and participation throughout the process. The participation recorded across the six Area Councils is indicative of citizens’ continued trust in building democracy and the electoral system. Wilfred Ifogah Ag. How President Trump Disappointed Peter Obi and Other Fifth Columnists in Nigeria Peter Obi and his hordes of Obidients have been thoroughly disappointed and disgraced. After publicly calling Nigeria, the same country that they hope to govern, a "now disgraced country", and holding rallies and taunting their fellow citizens in anticipation of an impending American invasion of Nigeria, not only did the so-called invasion by President Trump never materialise, but Nigeria-American relations went from an all time low to an all time high, with the Trump administration ramping up its collaboration with Nigeria and sending financial support, weapons and military deployment to its new found ally, as well as intelligence sharing on a level scarcely seen in Africa. But how did Nigeria move the United States from battleground to common ground? This was achieved by the diplomatic deftness of Nigerian leaders led by President Bola Tinubu, and his aides, like Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, who refused to be provoked by the rhetoric from Washington DC, or by the childish glee those initial anti-Nigerian oratory drew in people like Peter Obi and his ilk. The President dispatched these trusted aides to the United States and Europe to demonstrate Nigeria's forthrightness and douse tension. It worked brilliantly because these were brilliant men. Instead of the confrontational approach unwisely taken by Nicolás Maduro, our President never responded to Mr Trump, whether directly or indirectly. All he said, over and over, was the truth-that there was no Christian Genocide in Nigeria, but rather a localised insecurity issue affecting both Christians and Muslims. And to show transparency, the administration invited a series of prominent and influential Americans to visit Nigeria and go wherever they chose without let or hindrance. And while here, they publicly admitted that, yes, there were security challenges, caused largely by the fall of Gaddafi in Libya, and the destabilisation of the Sahel by his foreign mercenary army that left Libya with training, weapons and finances after his ignoble death in 2011. Next, they rightly saw through Peter Obi and reasoned that a man who could sell out his own country so quickly could never be a trusted and reliable ally. Peter Obi is a trader, not a leader. And the only thing a proper dyed-in-the-wool trader worships is money. So, they reasoned that a patriotic President Tinubu, who is open and ready to work with anyone who would help Nigeria, is better than an Obi, who is willing to side with foreign powers to undermine Nigeria. As is commonly said, when you sell your own brother, even your buyer will not trust you. Such was the case of Obi, who saw Nigeria's security issues as something to exploit, rather than solve. And it is not surprising that the Biafran lobby, which initially turned the Trump administration against Nigeria, really took off after Peter Obi visited Washington on Thursday, September 25, 2025. A coincidence? Almost immediately after Obi's DC visit, talk show host and comedian Bill Maher, Senator Ted Cruz and others turned on Nigeria. And when it was revealed in October 2025 that pro-Biafran groups had been spending $66,000 a month to lobby the Trump government against Nigeria, Peter Obi said nothing. However, when it became public that the Federal Government of Nigeria had countered them with its own lobbying contract, Peter Obi went into overdrive, calling the funds paid to the US lobbyist an unnecessary "waste". Right then and there, American and Nigerian officials saw through Obi. When Biafran paid lobbyists, he was silent. When Nigeria countered, Obi was salient. Just like that, the enemy within revealed himself to Nigerians and Americans, with both governments realising they were being set up and quickly reaching a detente in their sabre-rattling. To cut a long story short, that is how President Trump disappointed the fifty columnists in Nigeria.

Today, I have ordered the shut down of the Onitsha Main Market for one week due to the protracted economic sabotage cloaked as "Monday sit-at-home". Going forward, this order would apply to any other market in Anambra that shuts down on Monday. This action is not taken lightly, as I am determined to protect the economic interests of our state and its people. No individual or group has the right to halt the lives and livelihood of the people. I urge all traders and market stakeholders to disregard this call to economic sabotage and resume business as usual. Let us work together to build a prosperous Anambra. To those who continue to aid and abet this economic sabotage, I warn that we will not tolerate it any further. Our government will take all necessary measures to ensure the security and safety of lives and property in the state. I call on all residents of Anambra to go about their normal business activities without fear. We will continue to do everything possible to protect our economy and ensure that our state remains a hub for business and investment. Let us stand together against economic sabotage and build a brighter future for our state. May Anambra continue to win!

Anthony Joshua's Crash: UK Journalist On Investigation To Lagos - Ibadan Expressway, Praises Nigerian Roads As Being World-class, Slams Naysayers Nick Pisa, a seasoned journalist from the UK and senior reporter with the Daily Mail, recently visited Nigeria to investigate the Anthony Joshua road accident. And guess what? He was blown away by the country's roads and highways! 😲 "I've got to say, Nigeria's roads are looking top-notch," Pisa remarked. "They're smooth, motorable, and honestly, Highways England would be proud of them." 👏 Highways England, for those who don't know, is the UK's go-to agency for building and maintaining major highways. But, as expected, not everyone's happy about this glowing review. Some folks, still sore about their candidate's election loss, are quick to bash Nigeria and call it names. 🤷‍♂️ It's like, can't even give credit where credit's due, right? 😒 Pisa's comment highlights the tendency for some Nigerians to focus on the negative, especially when their preferred candidate doesn't win. But hey, let's give props when props are due! 👊
