@Ihateprepaids I live in Texas and doing a massive road trip. I know next to nothing about Golf in Maryland. These are places I would want to play and also asking for suggestions

US Golf Road Trip continued The next route will be down the East Coast after NY/NJ. Idk much outside the Top 2 in WV. Gotta hit Strantz in VA as I’ve already played his 2 in NC. NC obviously Pinehurst, but I’d like to see the other stuff honestly Anything I need to play?

@jhowieii Already played both Strantz. Although do want another shot at TR since I was lost on a handful of shots

@Dmakes2 Skip Royal New Kent in VA and play Viniterra or try to get on Creighton Farms. Birdwood Reno in Charlottesville is always worth it

@Dmakes2 It’s in great shape. It’s got a caddie program and a great practice facility. The layout is just ok. I caddied there for a year a seven members said that sometimes

@Ilikeracing3 I have heard Kinloch is just so so. But everyone has an opinion🤝

@Dmakes2 Homestead is best course in Va. RNK is great. Kinloch is meh. Overrated

Alright folks… The trek back to Austin begins Now we hit NY/NJ golf. We know all the big dogs and how unattainable they are, what’s the next in line? What are the hidden gems? I want deep bones with great routing. Maybe even gem 9 holers? Give me a list!

@johnholtz78 Would highly doubt I go Upstate. I’m driving back down the east coast so won’t have time on this trip

@Dmakes2 How far north in NY are you going? Some great courses upstate.

@23mk77 Yes Oak Hills is on the list to play. I’m doing a big US Road trip and a couple Tilly’s are on the wish list

@Dmakes2 I like Tillinghast and have played many of his public courses. He has several in Texas also….BP in SA, Cedar Crest-Dallas , Oak Hills CC, and some others out of state. But most are private up East.

@23mk77 Right, got to expand. It’s all new private builds so I get it. But I just can’t get behind Nicklaus as a designer. Canyons is the superior track at Barton and I prefer Flintrock to The Hills in Lakeway.

@Dmakes2 Ive played every course in the Austin area with theexception of Austin GC and Spanish Oaks. Favorites are Austin CC, the two BC Fazio courses and then the Hills CC(Lakeway). Grew up in Houston area since age 7 and lived there some. Grew up in Houston/The Woodlands mainly.

Planning a Nebraska golf trip this summer and need some help. Any public course recommendations near Kearney Nebraska? Unless a kind gentlemen wants to invite me to Sand Hills of course (I’ll buy lunch 😂🙏🏻) Playing GrayBull and Wild Horse, super excited for them.

@23mk77 Agree most is newer in Texas, but Jack is so bad. But it’s what you’ve played. I would just strongly suggest getting out and seeing more

@Dmakes2 Yeah but those three have literally built or have the most top 100 or 300 courses in the USA the last 50 years. I’m in Texas and this state doesn’t have many old courses most of the growth here is newer.

@TalkBirdie2Mee I was gonna play it on my trip, but caught wind of it being in rough shape for a couple years. However has gotten better and really turned a new leaf with the name change and more care. Also a bit further out, but Bayside was one I want to get to when I go back. Was too booked
