Isaiah’s curiosity about plants led him down the path to biotechnology 🌱🔬 Along the way, he found inspiration in the classroom, and his math teacher Ms. Weaver helped nurture his interests and encouraged him to keep exploring. That’s how future innovators grow. Now it’s your turn. 🎥 Record a :60 second message about why you’re excited about STEM and share with younger students to inspire them to grow their own STEM skills for the future. 💸 Submit your video for the opportunity to earn a $1,500 scholarship. And be sure to watch @projecthailmary (PG-13) now playing only in theaters! Ready to be a STEM hero? 🚀 bit.ly/project-stem

A recent jury verdict finding major tech platforms liable for addicting young users could mark a turning point for digital well-being. On Mornings with Zerlina , DoSomething’s CEO DeNora Getachew talked about what this moment means for young people growing up online. For Gen Z and Gen Alpha, devices have always been part of daily life, but many young people are also recognizing the downsides to 24/7 connectivity, including comparing themselves to others, feeling the pressure of constant connection, and navigating platforms designed to keep them scrolling. At DoSomething, we hear it directly from our young members: safety and well-being have been one of their top concerns for the past five years. But the story isn’t all negative. Online spaces can also spark creativity, build community, and help young people organize for real-world impact. The question now is, how can we build a healthier digital future? 🎙️ Listen in as DeNora talks about how young people are stepping up, and why the digital world needs stronger guardrails to support them. #DigitalWellbeing #GenZ #YouthVoice #TechAccountability #DoSomething

📉 80% of young women say they face more barriers to advancement than men. 📉 89% of young women believe men hold most of the advantages in society. This data from the Young Women & Girls’ Aspiration Report, developed by DoSomething Strategic and the National Women’s History Museum @womenshistory, reveals that the old scripts of the workplace are still holding back young women today. That's why in this final week of #WomensHistoryMonth, we’re uplifting powerful stories from the Museum, because the past is always present: ⭐ Elouise Cobell: Was told she didn’t understand accounting, so she founded the first Native-owned bank and won a $3.4B settlement against the U.S. government. ⭐ Muriel Siebert: She bypassed the secretarial track to become the first woman with a seat on the New York Stock Exchange, not to mention, finally installing a women’s restroom. Together, we’re carrying forward Elouise and Muriel’s legacy, so that a new generation of young women know these scripts are made to be rewritten. Leadership shouldn't be a solo mission. That’s why we are partnering with @helloCandS to recruit the next class of Carnegie Young Leaders, a year-long fellowship designed for teams of young people (ages 14-24) who have a bold idea for addressing a challenge in their community. What you’ll get: 💸Funding: Up to $7,500 to power your project 💡Mentorship: Expert coaching to level up your impact 👥Community: In-person networking and opportunities for peer learning Whether you’re tackling mental health, food deserts, or rural resilience, Carnegie Young Leaders provides the funding, mentorship and community to take your idea from “What if?” to “We did that.” No perfect resume required—just a desire to build and four team members you invite to join you on the journey. Deadline: May 4, 2026. Applications received by March 30th will receive priority review. Apply now or share the opportunity with a young leader in your network: bit.ly/3P3jPIM #CarnegieYoungLeaders #CivicAction #GenZChangemakers
