On this the day before the premiere of #StarTrekDiscovery Season 3, I was by the @StarTrek account! What a good way to start a day!

@MeowthTheStarry I’ve never considered the connection to FFXIII-2 (which I adore) so very interesting. And yes I too think it’s a cameo/setting the stage, and perhaps more hinting at the withering that is happening, which would make sense to affect the thirteenth more.

I mean, was closed but nothing says it cannot be opened again if required, even moreso when they connected the First and the Thirteenth with the beacons so there is a thread between shards. The point still stands anyways. The cameo of the Thirteenth is, if you ask me, more symbolic than anything—the threshold into FFXIII, as Act II is built upon the Fabula Nova Crystallis series. DT was already FFIX on the surface but beneath it, it is FFXIII-2. A game all about time travel, time fuckery and alternate timelines, by the by. C:

Thank goodness I do not interact with the fanbase because—really? People are saying the gate of the trailer leads to the Thirteenth? Have they already forgotten that we need no gates to reach it when we have the portal on the Moon, the planar fissures and the knowledge on how to build an Atomos? Maybe it is just me but... how are these people missing that the auracite key and Azem's crystal open the gate in tandem? When Azem's crystal is made from Hades's aether in the first place and the auracite was already shown to react to it? That Azem's crystal's purpose is to light the way of the WoL in the dark when seemingly there is no path forward—tending a bridge between Azem and Hades so he may bring them the light of hope no matter the distance? And the auracite that opens pathways between realities is now tending a literal bridge? Holy smokes. People are not ready at all for the nuke coming their way. I am going to enjoy watching the meltdown so, so much. C:

@ffxiv_ame The fact that they showed stuff in the trailer makes me think it won’t be directly 13th, but tangentially connected to it (however much I too want the 13th)

praying so hard we next expansion will have to do with 13th, please please please please

I was thinking of not saying anything regarding my predictions before FanFest, but then I realize that I got new followers recently that surely have not been in touch with my research for these past two years and also there is the element of proving that what is coming is not an ass-pull but has been told to us throughout DT. However, though I would summarize it, it will be still a long post. Before I sit down and write—would any of you guys be interested in reading through it? 🫠

@Supurreme I doubt that Calyx is Deudaphalon. We know Gaius fought Deudaphalon, and this would be during the time living memory was active and Calyx would already be an Endless. Though I wouldn’t be surprised if Deudaphalon helped discover Electrope on the Ninth.

im trying not to think about how 7.5 is going to absolutely destroy the kotoverse lore irt the key and its purpose and just enjoy the hilarity of emet having to deal with halmarut and calyx who i so strongly believe is deudaphalon

@DiaLancea I hope he still does it, iirc he was talking about how he doesn’t like how he’s now expected to do it. But I’m sure he’ll still do it, maybe for EU like last time with the new class.

@MightyZekken I’m pretty sure it’s just a gameplay thing and not a realistic thing considering we see parts of the planet at night while on the moon. However fun it is to consider how it might actually work if true.

Ok... Etheirys has a day/night cycle. But it covers the whole world at the same time. If it's daytime in Tuliyollal, it's daytime in Kugane, and everywhere in between. But the world is a globe. We know it is, because we can see it from the moon. And we can see it rotating from the moon. And we don't see all the continents at the same time from the moon. The same moon is also in perpetual daylight. But we can't see the star. We know there is one, though, because there are shadows indicating its direction. Those shadows never move. Shadows definitely move on the planet surface, and we can see the star in the sky. Therefore, the moon is a fixed point in space. Etheirys is always in the same spot in the sky. My brain is trying to wrap itself around the impossible physics at work here and it can't do it! Flying motorcycles, talking elephant people, fighting and killing gods? Cool. Trying to imagine the orbital mechanics of our homeworld? Nope. 😬 #FFXIV

@TaleraRis @KanikouEstellia Who said that? I wouldn’t take too much worry from that, as her audience I wouldn’t describe as “the youth”. Probably just from someone seeing an animated character and making assumptions. Especially after the age rating was raised because they wouldn’t edit a feature recently.

@KanikouEstellia Honestly with their comments about a new direction, this makes me worry a bit about the direction they're taking the game. I've seen comments she may be there to bring the youth in and we already had a really sanitized MSQ in DT.

I don't follow vtubers and don't know who this is. She seems from the comments she's a perfectly lovely person. However, it also seems from the comments she plays but she's not a content creator. This seems unfair to actual XIV vtubers who focus on the game.
