Today, one comment really made me think. How do you see us — Ukrainians? In your opinion, how are people supposed to live during war? I remember the angry posts: that we shouldn’t drink coffee, dance, or eat at McDonald’s. And today, someone told me I look too good. Too well-groomed. Honestly, I don’t see myself as a beauty. I think I’m just… attractive. I have one basic face cream — it costs about two dollars. And a face wash. That’s it. That’s all of my skincare. I am who I am. It’s just genetics. So tell me — what kind of life am I allowed to live? Should I hide my smile? Should I apologize for the way I look? Are we expected to disappear, to fade into gray — just to fit someone’s idea of what "people at war" should look like?

Morning from Kyiv, where the night was mostly calm. I had a good sleep, a warcoffee, and wrote a little. I recently started a new diary called A Long War. ‘If this war outlasts me, just know I did all I could to live it with dignity’ - I wrote that in it today.
