Here’s an interesting video about #Elon, especially for Australians who worry how #Musk may seek to influence our imminent Federal election.

So for 17b you could build 17GW of two hour storage spread across australia. The value of that would far exceed the concentrate value of this project.

Snowy Hydro 2.0 went from a $2B … to a $6B … to a $12B publicly funded project. But wait, there’s more. The privately (consumer) funded transmission line project that connects Snowy to the NSW grid has gone from $1B … to $3B … to $5B! #YouPay #auspol #nswpol

Saving energy also means reducing the need for expensive and sometimes contentious new infrastructure. Great initiative!
Anthony Albanese@AlboMP
Saving energy means saving money. That’s why we're working with the NSW government to upgrade social housing with things like ceiling fans, air conditioning and new hot water systems.

@KosSamaras Surely a compromise ain’t so hard.
Keep it in late Jan, but move it away from “Invasion Day” 26/1.
How about 4th Friday in Jan? That way we get a long weekend every year to finish the summer hols. 😎

I caught up with Tom Elliot this morning to discuss his solution to resolving the annual Australia Day debate.
We both highlight the blindspot many on the left side of politics have about this debate. Thousands of diverse Australians have significant sentimental attachment to this day. For many of them, it an annual reminder of the day they became an Australian citizen.
I would say, that right now, most Australians are agnostic but if it ever went to a vote, I would expect similar results to the Voice referendum. Not just in terms of the actual numbers but who would support moving the day and who will not. University, inner urban versus everyone else but with an added sting - less support from diverse Australians.
Personally I support moving it. For many reasons but also that it has always been temporary and not really fixed.

Thanks Rena.
It IS exciting to live in a country like Australia, at the forefront of the Clean Energy Transition.
If we are smart about energy efficiency and digitalisation,
We can avoid it becoming TOO exciting…😉 lnkd.in/gqy97XDU

Thanks Vida.
I'm very much looking forward to the IEA's 8th Global Conference on Energy Efficiency in Paris next week. Digitalisation and smart energy management are crucial to the Clean Energy Transition. We just need smart policy to unlock them. lnkd.in/gtmCmcVJ
