5 tips for building class climate: 1) Talk to kids when they walk into class. 2) Learn 1 thing about each student. 3) Praise publicly and criticize privately. 4) Apologize when you need to. 5) Don’t take yourself too seriously.

Principals don’t need all their teachers to be innovative… but they need all of them to be team players, to love kids, and to stay positive.
