Two years ago, during the last local elections, residents in Bumbles Green told me the village needed a new playground. I was delighted to work with the Parish Council to secure funding. It’s great to see the new playground & outdoor gym complete & being enjoyed by local people.

Today we were out again in Abridge reviewing feedback received from local residents via our 2025 Resident Survey. Great to be with some of our local Conservative Team from Epping Forest including Councillor Craig McCann, Cllr Raymond Balcombe, Cllr Darshan Sunger and Cllr Lee Scott. Peaceful protest is just one way to call for the closure of the hotel. As a council we’re working behind the scenes, using democratic, diplomatic & legal routes to shut it down. This isn’t about who gets the credit. What matters is protecting our community & getting it closed!

The peaceful protests of Epping have been legitimised by senior MPs,we were always about being peaceful, but poor policing decisions & counter protesters seeking trouble, caused some early problems. WE will get this shut, not our local council that labelled us & didn’t join us.

Closing the Bell Hotel and stopping it being used to house asylum seekers is about restoring safety, respecting local voices, and protecting our community’s future. This legal action is absolutely the right move by Conservative-led Epping Forest District Council.

Obviously I have touched a nerve Jaymey. I stand by every word of what I said in the chamber last night. The room and local people are with me. You tried to wriggle out of what you said but we all heard it. We can agree on one thing. The people of Epping Forest deserve the very best representation. That is not you. You were kicked out of the Conservative Party and for good reason. You then stood as an independent before joining Reform. You style yourself as the defender of democracy and yet you lack the courage to call for a by-election given that you have changed political parties. Your words ring hollow. You are running scared. You are not fit for public office. I wonder if @reformparty_uk know just how much of a liability you are. True Conservatives are back. It is you who needs to read the room. @Conservatives @EFConservatives

It was humbling last night to attend the Candlelight Vigil at BAPS Mandir in #Chigwell. A very moving service where our community came together in remembrance and prayers for those who tragically lost their lives, and the families impacted in the plane crash in Ahmedabad.

🚫 I’ve launched a petition to STOP turning Epping Forest’s Farmland and Green Belt into Solar Farms 🌾 🔗 chng.it/Qwskg26MXz I am particuarly concerned about the proposed Upland Solar Farm which would cover 237 acres of farmland between Epping Upland & Thornwood Common.

Great to welcome @Hirst4EssexPFCC & the Chief Inspector to #EppingForest for a walk around in Loughton this lunchtime with the Neighbourhood Policing Team. 74 new neighbourhood officers are joining @EssexPoliceUK including 6 locally. Visible policing is a top priority in Essex!👮‍♂️

It’s very odd how the local press in Epping Forest will report on Reform social events but fail to cover very serious questions raised publicly in a Essex full council meeting about the conduct of Ongar’s Reform councillor … who was expelled from the Conservative Party.

is one of the vagaries of local government that going bankrupt does not, of itself, disqualify a person from being a councillor. Nor does taking a company or companies into liquidation. However, does the leader share the concerns of myself and I am sure many members of this Chamber that a company belonging to Jaymey McIvor has gone into liquidation for the second time this time leaving creditors out of pocket the to tune of £141,000?
