It all started when a container truck was carelessly parked right in the middle of the main road, creating a dangerous obstruction. This week, we mourn the loss of Chukwunwolu, adding to the tragic tally that includes Engr. Uchechukwu Okpara and Mr. Aloke Chikaodiri, who d!ed earlier this year on January 7th, and Ede Ogonnaya, who passed away on January 11th. In January alone, over 20 individuals were involved in trágic incidents on this road, resulting in fatalities and serious injuries. In recent years, nearly 50 lives have been cut short in accidents on this route. The OKEYSON Motors accident at Nkwo Ugwulangwu in October 2025 was particularly devastating, and this road has become synonymous with trágedy. When can we expect the installation of speed breakers? Can David Umahi do more than Rochas Okorocha? Over the years, many Igbo leaders have attempted to make themselves acceptable as pan Nigerians, someone who is different from other Igbo. Anayo Rochas Okorocha built schools and houses for the less privileged in the north. He constantly tried everything possible to present himself as not Igbo because of the rejection and conspiracy theories that followed the Biafra war. Rochas Okorocha was once one of those who speaks and many will listen. He won the gubernatorial election under APGA because of his influence. Today, APC and all those Rochas Okorocha worshipped disappointed him and rubb!$hed his name. I could remember he once hiding under the ceiling when EFCC broke into his house on an ungodly hour. He prayed, he cried and no one answered. Today he's irrelevant in national politics. Engr Dave Umahi should borrow a leaf from what has happened to those who first walked the part he's walking right now. Orji uzor kalu, Anayo Rochas Okorocha, Chimaraoke Anamani to mention but few who had claimed to know what is better for the people of South East and who once claimed to be the deciders of what ndi Igbo needed at one point. I think Engr Dave Umahi should concentrate on doing his job at the ministry of works and support president Bola Ahmed Tinubu and stop dragging the south east into his personal interest. As of today, no politician not even Mr Peter Obi or anyone can decide for the people of the South East. Ndi Igbo are free thinkers and from origin Igbo has no King. They decide on issues as people and cannot be influenced by one man. Before civilization, ndi Igbo was governed by the council of elders who deliberate on issues and the majority opinion is implemented.
