Sometimes, a nickname comes along so excellently unkind that you know it’s going to stick. One such is “MattGPT” – which will, I suspect, follow former academic and failed Reform candidate in the Gorton and Denton by-election Matt Goodwin to his grave.

Matthew Goodwin lost because he was a poor candidate, with the wrong message, running for the wrong party, in the wrong seat. And the fact he seems to think Asian women were being press-ganged by their husbands into voting against him simply underlines that fact.
