We will communicate towards the US that we want to have clarity that they are sticking to the commitments made in Turnberry as well & also need clear answers from EU Commission on the consequences of the new US tariff regime for the EU. We stand ready but not without clarity.

Tariff Ruling #SCOTUS is a positive signal for the rule of law. Judges have shown that even an US president does not operate in a legal vacuum. Legal barriers have been set, the era of unlimited, arbitrary tariffs impossible by the President might now be coming to an end (1/2)
We must now carefully evaluate ruling&consequences.
Therefore I just convened an extraordinary meeting of EP negotiating team @EP_Trade on Turnberry Deal for Monday in order to assess possible implications on the on-going work & in particular in view of the committee vote (2/2)

Trade committee on a roll this week with Philippines mission but also today in #Cyprus, that holds the EU Presidency. Discussions with French trade minister @N_Forissier , Irish trade minister @HMcEntee and other trade ministers in #CY2026
🇪🇺🇵🇭 As negotiations for an EU-Philippines free trade deal intensify, @EP_Trade MEPs have visited the country. Such an agreement would require Parliament's consent to enter into force.
