Kenya and France enjoy strong, cordial relations grounded in shared values and mutual interests, with France emerging as one of Kenya’s leading investors. We are expanding cooperation across key sectors, including green industrialisation, the blue economy, agriculture, health, the digital economy, infrastructure, and education, to unlock greater opportunities for our people. Met French Ambassador to Kenya @arnaud_suquet, at State House, Nairobi. We reviewed our joint preparedness to host the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi on May 11-12, marking the first time the Summit will be held in a non-Francophone country, and a significant milestone in broadening its reach and impact. At the summit, we will actively engage on key issues, including reforming the international financial architecture and strengthening secure, sustainable economic partnerships. We also discussed the upcoming G7 Summit, to which Kenya has been invited by President Emmanuel Macron. Coming immediately after the Africa Forward Summit, the G7 Summit presents an important opportunity to carry forward Africa’s priorities into global deliberations and reinforce the link between regional perspectives and global decision-making.

Attended a touching conference at the United Nations Complex, Gigiri, Nairobi. Getting in took like 10 minutes, getting out took nearly one-and-a/half hours, as long as the main conference. It was due to the mess of getting back IDs/passports and narrow exits. After nearly 30 years you’d imagine they’d have figured this out. Then it struck me, and apologies to my many friends (and relatives) at the UN. The place runs on a prison logic; easy to get in, tough to get out, mixed in with the structure of a minority/apartheid state structured to cater to a few, as the masses gaze from the fence. Thought I would sit on this, but it cried too loudly to get out.

Before DEVOLUTION, North Eastern Kenya appeared in the national map because of POOR national examination results. Now it’s appearing on the SAME map because of poor governance, CORRUPTION and terrible POVERTY rates. The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics released a report on the POORLY governed counties in Kenya based on audit issues, unspent funds in the CRF and poverty rates.

Tuambiane tu ukweli,, if Uhuru Kenyatta roars in the Mountain, Kijana wa nyumbani can't manage even 5% in Mt. Kenya. I think that's one of the main reasons why Kithure Kindiki has toned down and is now calling for unity in the Mountain. He's slowly embracing the opposition.
