@DanNeidle Badly - like the cookie statements, it will get applied to everything generically, even things that aren't AI and become another check box waste of time.

Can anyone explain how this would work? Where do you draw a line? 100% AI written with no human involved: sure. 100% human written with no AI involved: easy. But plenty is in the middle. Everything I write is proof-read by AI. It's brilliant. Was this post "made using AI"?
Jack Elsom@JackElsom

Tech Secretary Liz Kendall suggests AI-generated content will need to be labelled in future. For many struggling to distinguish between reality and fakes, this is a welcome step. But it's quite the epiphany from Kendall, who dismissed the need for such disclaimers in a recent interview with @hoffman_noa.

@sweatystartup I've followed you for a while but I have never seen any content about what happens with lapsed storage units like "storage wars". It's huge on YouTube - what's the reality from the operator side?

@GKedzierski @dannypostma Might be a bad structure if the business had direct customer relationships but this looks to be a straightforward clean IP sale. Buyer has everything required to operate the business.

@dannypostma Isn't this technically misaligned incentives? You're incentivised not to help him, because you'll get everything back if he fails, plus whatever he's paid to you up until that time.

@paulg There's a good amount of psychological experiments in the 60s/70s with the aim of examining this e.g. Stanford prisoner experiment, Milgram experiment etc

When I was a kid I thought Naziism was connected with the German character. Nazis in WW II movies were always so German. But the more I see, the less plausible this seems. The people of any country can behave like Nazis if they get into a bad situation with bad leaders.

@levelsio This article, the discussion and the examples... theguardian.com/artanddesign/2… Is from January 2023. The pace of change is insane. How good will it be in another year? We've never seem anything like this before

Have you ever thought about this? t.co/b4N58n9tPY Dogs differ more in size than any other mammal species on the planet. You never saw adult mammals so different in size as dogs. A mutation behind such variation has been traced to an unexpected source: ancient wolves. It lies near a gene called IGF1, which researchers flagged only 16 years ago as having a major role in the size variation of domestic dogs.

@paulg My Facebook feed has already been taken over by AI generated images for pages like "DIY Projects", "Woodwork projects" full of fantastical but impractical design ideas. AI already good at gaining attention but for what now. Lowers quality of overall content.

⌚️Got an Apple Watch a few months ago Used it for sleep tracking, fitness tracking etc To be honest it made me more neurotic than anything, checking my sleep, HRV and more metrics And I naturally just stopped using it Also notifications on my wrist are annoying (yes can switch them off) The whole thing is more of a hassle than something that makes my life easier I think wearables should operate in the background, kinda like the WHOOP band, maybe I’ll try that. It should track your health without interrupting you about it Just tell me when something is off and I need to go see a doctor but stay in the background

Today's Twitter Poll: How many postage stamps do you estimate you've put on letters (for personal not work use) in the last twelve months? With 1st class stamp prices rising on Sunday by 14% (stock up asap) I thought it'd be interesting to find out.

This video creation is inspired by the movie Titanic and its theme song: two marbles, ideally Jack and Rose, musically bounce through a Rube-Goldberg like xylophone in an enchanting coreography [📹 David Scott] t.co/yqdZCw49pS

I make decent money now, but paying $350 a night for a 25sqm hotel room in Singapore where whoever is in the bed has a clear view of you taking a poop, still feels like daylight robbery.

@elonmusk It would be perfect if it included lane changing! In the UK undertaking isn't allowed and highways have fewer lanes. The sequence for getting out of autopilot, changing lane and getting back in quite clunky.

@Anna_Soubry I think think will land better than expected - Labour'/the left need to not repeat the Brexit mistake of "everyone" (e.g. my remainer guardian reading friends) thinks this is a bad idea... desperate measures from the Tories etc

What contemptible nonsense. More evidence of how the Conservative Party has fallen in to the same political gutter occupied by Trump & Co. And to think we were once leading the world in our determination to take tough action to tackle climate change.

If they actually did the job instead of constantly raiding the dressing up drawer for performative distractions, they might earn a little respect. But they don’t. So they don’t. And if the civil service allow public money for this 5 priorities campaign as reported Case must go

@NOWHelpTeam You increased my price in March as stated. I understand the legality of saying that the "standard price" hasn't changed since 2018 or whatever technicality, but I honestly find the narrative insulting and much worse than if you hadn't included it in your PR guff.

@MartinSLewis I’m waiting for a new provider to install full fibre so I’m stuck on my @NOWHelpTeam broadband. After 12 months expired in March they increased from £20pm to £35. Now upping to £38.50 in July. Talk about price gauging penalty for not switching.
