If the Israeli center or left had stayed in power rather than Likud, October 7 never happens, the Gaza War also never happens, the Iran War probably doesn't happen, and Israel is still highly popular with Democrats.

@EdhanOmer5358 @Bolek_Lech @gidonsaar You do not know how the war in Poland was. For every Jew who survived (and nit collaborated with Germans) there were several Poles who risk their lives. Many were killed. The sad story is some of these who survived joined bolsheviks and started to kill Poles after the war.

Polls from 2025 show: 79% of Lebanese support disarming Hezbollah (Gallup). Only 17% support normalization with Israel (Arab Barometer). Lebanon is a (flawed) democracy. Public opinion there matters. If the US focuses on steps to disarm Hezbollah, these steps would enjoy popular support & political backing. Steps such as: * Removing from the judiciary, military, security services, port authority, border crossings, etc. officials who serve Hezbollah & disobey the state. * Bolstering LAF capabilities to deploy across the country. * Pushing through financial & legal reforms to help dry Hezbollah illicit economy. * Pushing for demarcation of the Syria-Lebanon border and specifically the Shebaa Farms area. * Battling corruption to ensure no reconstruction funds are siphoned off by political parties, incl. Hezbollah, once those are granted. * Garnering vows of Gulf countries to reconstruct Lebanon once Hezbollah is disarmed (this was a condition they already placed in 2024, but should be made publicly and with numbers attached to pledges). The US should focus on a new security agreement between Israel & Lebanon, which would include border demarcation to end Hezbollah's silly claims about occupied lands. Steps toward normalization will reduce the political support for any negotiations with Israel, especially the crucial support of Nabih Berri. Such steps would also destabilize and weaken the Lebanese government, which is committed to working on Hezbollah's disarmament after the militia dragged the country into 2 destructive wars in the span of 3 years. Once Hezbollah is disarmed and Israel no longer occupies Lebanese land, all actors involved can decide whether to pursue normalization. The law banning contact even with ordinary Israelis is draconic and harmful, but linking normalization to Hezbollah's disarmament helps Hezbollah, since normalization is deeply unpopular among the Lebanese population.

Germany was a highly-cultured, very civilised, sophisticated country before it descended into barbarism in the 1930s. The cause of this descent was Jew hate. Antisemitism is believing that because a single Israeli soldier desecrated a cross, you think all of Israel is evil but when tens of thousands of Gazans cheer the rape and murder of Israelis, it’s not indicative of their culture.
