@Douglas_Fraser @SOSLeith @fingaledinburgh @WOLCT Douglas, there really isn't a lack of greenspace nearby. We put a huge wildflower meadow in at Victoria Quay a couple of years ago. That's 600 metres away. We'll continue to encourage people to do whatever they can for wildlife no matter what space they have. Every little helps.

@EdinburghShore1 @SOSLeith @fingaledinburgh @WOLCT You foresee thousands of bees flocking to this land for dandelions and other wild flowers for pollen. I foresee an area that rarely attracts bees because of its small size, the existing dense urban development, ongoing building work and lack of other green areas in the vicinity

@EdinburghShore1 @SOSLeith @fingaledinburgh @WOLCT Thanks. I think you’re confusing coastal areas like say Gullane which would be similar to the rural sea walls as described in the links and the it so bee friendly urban scrag area amidst the working docs and flats. Albeit certain urban areas are very bee friendly

With thanks to staff and volunteers at the reserve for leading the session. Here the pupils are experimenting with how different beak lengths can find food in the 'mud' (we used flour and water here).

With thanks to funding from @nature_scot we've been able to take an Edinburgh Primary School out to the RSPB reserve at Skinflats to see how the habitat there is different to Edinburgh and learn about the birds that call the firth of forth mudflats home.

The Forth Princess is an incredible way to see the Firth of Forth. So pleased we had a lovely afternoon to take out a group from Fetlor Youth Club. Even better with the Pentlands and Ochils covered in snow! With thanks to @nature_scot for funding.

A pleasure to be at @ScotParl tonight at a reception to celebrate 350 years of @TheBotanics. Great to chat more about our work to encourage people to connect with our Edinburgh coastline. Happy birthday RBGE!
