@Douglas_Fraser @SOSLeith @fingaledinburgh @WOLCT Douglas, there really isn't a lack of greenspace nearby. We put a huge wildflower meadow in at Victoria Quay a couple of years ago. That's 600 metres away. We'll continue to encourage people to do whatever they can for wildlife no matter what space they have. Every little helps.

I foresee an area that rarely attracts bees because of its small size, the existing dense urban development, ongoing building work and lack of other green areas in the vicinity

'urban scrag' or DVL is also recognised as excellent habitat: centralscotlandgreennetwork.org/news-and-event… This month we have 4ha being down from Cramond to Granton. Good for pollinators, good for people.

I think you’re confusing coastal areas like say Gullane which would be similar to the rural sea walls as described in the links and the it so bee friendly urban scrag area amidst the working docs and flats. Albeit certain urban areas are very bee friendly

Wonderful to get the opportunity to create a #meadow with #Edinburgh shoreline seed mix along the river at #Leith basin today thanks to @fingaledinburgh and @EdinburghShore1. The dock area does not have much greenspace and it vital to use what we can to help #pollinators.

With thanks to staff and volunteers at the reserve for leading the session. Here the pupils are experimenting with how different beak lengths can find food in the 'mud' (we used flour and water here).

With thanks to funding from @nature_scot we've been able to take an Edinburgh Primary School out to the RSPB reserve at Skinflats to see how the habitat there is different to Edinburgh and learn about the birds that call the firth of forth mudflats home.
