@vedu_boi How do you get your designs to AE? Do you use overlord? I tried it, but if I do effects like Liquid Glass etc it doesn’t import right. So I was always only able to make the shapes in figma

@vedu_boi Exactly, its better for design than AE. Also you need to make the design actually good first to be satisfied with it. Became you can’t animate there. What usually happened for me in AE, is that if I didn’t like a design i just thought it’s boring because there’s no animation.

your animations look mid because your design looks mid I spent 18 months wondering why my motion work was not landing clients turns out I was trying to animate my way out of bad design decisions here is what actually changed everything for me when I started in figma doing client work I learned spacing, hierarchy, color systems, typography all the boring stuff most motion designers skip then when I moved to after effects I realized something brutal 90% of what makes motion look premium is decided before you even set a keyframe the design either works or it does not motion just makes good design move you cannot animate bad spacing into good spacing you cannot ease your way out of weak hierarchy you cannot add bounce to fix random color choices I see motion designers all the time with perfect technical execution flawless easing, smooth transitions, clean renders but their design fundamentals are so weak the whole thing looks amateur meanwhile someone with basic animation skills but strong design always looks more professional because the foundation is there here is the test I wish someone gave me 2 years ago 12 questions that will show you if design is your actual problem not after effects skills, not easing knowledge, not plugin mastery just design fundamentals that most motion designers never learn I am dropping this test for free to anyone who wants it but only if you are serious about finding out what is actually holding you back reply “SEND” and repost this so other motion designers see it and I will share test with you just a real assessment that will show you exactly where you are losing clients
