As the person who delivered the largest number of School Streets in the U.K, let me be clear that it’s a national embarrassment that the response of most Councils, schools, and police forces to this situation is to tell kids to wear hi-vis clothing and ‘be alert’.

It would be reasonable to conclude that the 2 most inspirational cities in the world right now in city-building for people are Paris & Montreal. It might be the french culture for place-making and civic sociability. On the other hand, it might be about 2 progressive women mayors.
